Sidney Moore

Sidney Moore, formerly of Raeford, died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in his home in Virginia Beach, Virginia at the age of 75.
He was born in Pender County on August 11, 1937 to the late Sindney Roderick Moore Sr. and Sallie Carroll Moore. He was a member of the Texas Board of Professional Engineers and the Raeford Masonic Lodge #306.
Survivors his wife Yolanda Moore of Virginia Beach; sons, Carlos Moore and his wife Bonnie of Alvarado, Texas, Richard Moore of Dallas, Texas; daughters, Patricia "Patty" M. Santiago and her husband Robert of Virginia Beach, Raquel M. Swensen of Pinebluff, Jennifer Gibson Watkins and her husband Rick of Crossville, Tennessee; his brother, Graham Moore and his wife Karen of Florence, South Carolina; and a sister Carroll Coley and her husband Walter of Charlotte.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC 28376. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Tony Horne

Tony Horne of Raeford died Thursday, November 22, 2012 at the FirstHealth Hospice and Palliative Care at the age of 53.
He was born in Richmond County, Georgia on August 4, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, David Horne.
Survivors include his wife, Terri Horne of Raeford; two daughters, Cassidy H. Johnson of Raeford, and Samantha Horne of Greenville; two sons, Chris Horne of Asheville, and Caleb Horne of Raeford; his mother, Eva Horne of Raeford; two brothers, Steve Horne and his wife Jeannie of Raeford, and David Horne and his wife Pamela of Franklinton; a sister, Cynthia Wellington of Raeford; and three grandchildren, Charlie Johnson, Caley Johnson, Cameron Reynolds.
Visitation will be6-8 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Pittman Family Cemetery at Pittman Grove Baptist Church.

Earlene Jacobs

Earlene Jacobs of Raeford died Thursday, November 22, 2012 in her home at the age of 73.
She was born in Scotland County on June 2, 1939 to the late Earl Locklear and Lessie Revels Locklear. She was an active member of the Mt. Elim Baptist Church where she served as President of the Women's Missionary Union. Before Mrs. Jacobs retired, she worked as a billing clerk with the House of Raeford. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandmother.
Survivors include her husband of 43 years, Jimmie Jacobs of the home; her daughters, Lynette Dial and her husband Clarence of Raeford, Paulette Moore and husband James of Scotland County, Wandalene Locklear and her husband, Ricky of Kempner, Texas; her son, Jimmie Earl Jacobs of Red Springs; her brothers, James C. Locklear and his wife Roma, Yorktown, Virginia, David Locklear and his wife Bernice of Maxton, Earl Franklin Locklear of Albemarle; her sisters, Lessie Mae Sanchez of Tampa, Florida, Bessie Cook and her husband, J.R. of Scottsville, Virginia, Nancy Ratliff of Raeford; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, NC 28377.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Mt. Elim Baptist Church, 921 Wilson Road, Red Springs, with Pastor Chris Webb, Pastor Tony Brewington, and Pastor Timothy Locklear officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Elim Baptist Church Cemetery following the service.

Mary B. Scheel

Mary Brinson Scheel, 78, of Raeford, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.
Survivors are: husband, George; daughter, Cheryl Scott; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tues. Nov 20 at 2 p.m. in Camp Ground United Methodist Church in Fayetteville. Burial will be in church cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church.
