Joe David Stephens, age 87 of Supply, died Monday in his home. Born in Columbus County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Florrie Fowler Stephens. He was preceded in death by his former wife Euzena Walters Stephens, a daughter Zelda Stephens, and a granddaughter Melanie Pittman.
He is survived by his wife Eliza Fowler Stephens of Tabor City; two daughters, Betty Pittman (Melton) of Supply and Kathryn Pittman (Roy) of Raeford; a sister Hazel Arnette of Tabor City; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 17 from 6-8 p.m. in Inman Funeral Home of Tabor City. The funeral will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in Dogwood Hill Baptist Church.
