Alan P. Scholz

Alan "Al" Paul Scholz passed away at his home in Raeford October 11, 2013 at the age of 78.
He was born in Madison, Wisconsin September 5, 1935. He moved his family to Anchorage, Alaska. After more than 20 years in Alaska they moved to North Carolina, where his wife still resides.

His passion for gardening and working with his hands, along with making people smile, came together in the last years of his life when he was employed as a maintenance engineer at the Open Arms Retirement Center in Raeford.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Dorothy Scholz, and two grandchildren, Misty Dawn Scholz and Joshua Paul Richards.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Scholz, to whom he was married nearly 60 years.
