Barbara Jean Gravely

Barbara Jean Gravely, 74, passed quietly from this life at her home on June 18, 2014. Born Aug. 20, 1939, in Robeson County, she was the daughter of the late Calvin and Burniece McCormick. She was retired from Burlington Industries in Raeford, and a member of Seaside United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Buddy Williams and Harry Gravely and by her brother, JC McCormick. She is survived by sister Sallie Watts and husband Paul and sister-in-law Betty McCormick of Fairmont; daughter, Kathy Cox and husband Michael of Chapel Hill; son, Keith Williams and wife Beth of Manson; four grandsons, Sam Williams, Adam Cox, Nathan Williams, and Jason Cox; as well as Harry Gravely Jr, Pat Gravely and their respective families.
The family wishes to thank all of Barbara's many friends for their love, fellowship, and caring support over the years. She cherished each of you wholeheartedly and shared wonderful memories of you often. Your friendship was a source of joy and fulfillment for her.
The funeral will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Seaside United Methodist Church. A graveside service followed at Floyd Cemetery, Marion Stage Road, Fairmont, NC at 2 p.m. on Saturday.

Chad E. Goins

Chad Evertte "5.0" Goins, 40, of 730 Blue Road, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014.
Survivors are: wife, Sandy; sons, Dillon Hunt and Chad Jr.; daughters, Brooke Jacobs and Elizabeth; brother, Aaron; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 21 at 3 p.m. in South Hoke Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held tonight, Friday, June 20 from 7 to 9 at Boles Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Red Springs.

Georgia M. Frierson

Georgia M. Frierson, 46, of 152 Home Stretch Lane, died Monday, June 16, 2014.
She was a Navy veteran.
Survivors are: parents, Johnny and Willie Mae Graham; and abrother, Keith.
The funeral will be held Saturday, June 21 at 1 p.m. in Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters. Burial will be in Center Grove MBC in Red Springs.
Visitation will be held today, Fri., June 20 from 1 to 5:30 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home in Raeford and the viewing will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Faith Anointed Temple in Red Springs

Pat L. Willcox

Pat Lamont Willcox, 78, died at her home in Raeford on June 15, 2014. The daughter of William Lamont, Jr. and Mary Morris Lamont, she was born on August 4, 1935.
She is survived by her children, Robert Palmer Willcox, Jr. (Kim) of Summerfield, Mary Willcox Betts (Erskine) of Apex and Amy Willcox Barefoot (Jimmy) of Apex; her grandchildren Robert and Abby Willcox, Matthew and Alston Betts and Sarah, Hannah and Lilly Barefoot; her brothers William Lamont, III of New Bern and Andrew Lamont of Raeford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A native of Raeford, she graduated in 1957 from Woman's College in Greensboro. She was a homemaker known for her excellent cooking, and taught at Hoke High School for several years in the mid-1960s. Later, she worked in the law office of Willcox and McFadyen until her husband Palmer's retirement in 1996. As a lifetime member of Raeford Presbyterian Church, she volunteered with the Women of the Church. She and Palmer lived a simple life and shared a love for family and spending time at Holden Beach.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18 at Raeford Presbyterian Church. The family will receive visitors in the John C. Ropp Fellowship Hall prior to the service, beginning at 2.

Larry M. Purcell

Larry Maurice Purcell, 54, of Raeford, died Friday, June 13, 2014.
Survivors are: daughters, Someher, Tathea White, Tanya, Rayven Garrett, Deja; sons, Maurice and Larry Jr.; stepdaughter, Courtney Corbett; mother, Judy; sisters, Lenberneta Love, Priscilla Christian, Alison Durant; 13 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 17 at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Purcell Funeral Home chapel in Laurinburg.
Visitation will be held today June 16 from 6 to 7 at the funeral home.

John W. Harris

John Willie Harris, 66, of 284 McLean Loop Road, died Thursday, June 12, 2014.
Survivors are: special friend, Carrie; children, Ann Baker, Samantha, Kim Baldwin, William McGougan, Tony McGougan; siblings, Lizzie, Matthew Jr., Alex, Joe, Walter, Samuel, Cleveland; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Tuesday, June 17 at 2 p.m. in J.W. Turlington School, Raeford. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held today, June 16 from 1 to 7 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home in Raeford.
