Ronald W. Johnson

Ronald Wayne "Brother" Johnson of Raeford died Wednesday, September 17, 2014 in his home at the age of 59.
He was born in Scotland County on July 6, 1955. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Donald Johnson. He attended Shiloh Presbyterian Church and was the owner and operator of Johnson's Radiator Repair. He enjoyed fishing, and sharing his special barbeque sauce with others. He also enjoyed riding four-wheelers with his dog, Sam, and along with his friends and family. He cherished his '63 Chevrolet Impala.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Harriett C. Johnson of Raeford; his parents Archie and H. Beulah Johnson of Raeford; his sister, Martha Kelly (Edward) of Little River, South Carolina; his nephew, Justin Price (Samantha) of Huntersville; his niece, Lynn McClish (Jeff) of Orlando, Florida and their son, Spencer; his mother-in-law Betty Burns Currie of Raeford; and a host of close relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 20 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home-Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Shiloh Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rufus McLean, Pastor Mike Kimbrell, and Chaplin Tim Gore officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Gary W. Kowal

Gary Walter Kowal, age 64, of Pinebluff died Saturday, September 13, 2014.
He is survived by a son Jon Kowal of Pinebluff; a daughter Dawn Sievers a former Raeford police officer (Michael) of Pinebluff; a sister Judy Schoeder of Michigan; and a grandchild, Jordan Kunik.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 19, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home 40229 US Hwy 1 Aberdeen,. Burial will be in the Pinebluff City Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Vision for Israel and the Joseph Storehouse, P.O Box 7743 Charlotte, NC 28241.

Angel R. Aponte-Marrero

Retired US Army SFC Angel Roberto Aponte Marrero, 63, of Raeford, North Carolina passed away in his residence on Tuesday, September 16, 2014.
Survivors are:  his wife, Yasmin Aponte; sons, Ariel Aponte, Orlando Aponte and Robert Aponte; daughter, Karen Aponte; brothers, Jorge, Albert, Rafael, Ariel and Reuben; sisters, Ida-Glady and Olga-Iris; and six grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014 at 10:00 AM in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake with full military honors. 
 The family will receive friends at a visitation at Adcock Funeral Home on Thursday, September 18, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Missie S. Black

Missie Sanders Black, 87, of 1201 Fulton St., formerly of Red Springs, died Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014.
Survived by: Nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 1:30 p.m. in St. Joseph Learning Center in Red Springs. Burial  will be in St. Joseph Memorial Gardens in Red Springs. 
Viewing will be held Tuesday, Sept. 16 from 2 to 7 p.m. today at L. E. Floyd Funeral Home in Red Springs and also at 62 Conaster Drive in Parkton.
