Mattie O. Peck

 

Mattie Odom Peck, age 70, died Friday, February 27, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst.

She was a 1962 graduate of Aberdeen High School and a 1973 graduate of Sandhills Community College with an associate degree in nursing.  She served as a registered nurse in many capacities with McCain Hospital, Fayetteville VA Medical Center, St. Joseph's Home Care in Raeford and Autumn Care in Raeford.  She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Peck, her parents, C.G. "Glenn" Odom and Mildred G. Odom and brother, Clarence G. Odom, Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Mark James Peck and wife Pam of Laurinburg, and Matthew Peck of the home; her sisters, Sarah O'Brien and husband John of Southern Pines, and Helen Priggemeier and husband Jim of Aberdeen; brother, Todd Odom and wife Nancy of Stem; granddaughter, Ashley Peck Bourne and great-grandson Riley Bourne of Aberdeen; step-grandson Adam Wood of Laurinburg; beloved cousin Elsie Thomas of Pinebluff; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Wednesday at Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Southern Pines with the Rev. Charles Cash officiating.  The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. before the service.

Monty Terance Reynolds

On February 23, 2015 Monty Terance Reynolds lost his battle with life. He fought a hard battle for several years. He always lived life to the fullest and lived by the motto, "you only live once." He was born on December 12, 1973 in Anderson, Indiana. 

In addition to a large extended family that loved him dearly. He was liked by all who met him and always  had a ready smile and joke to share. His interests revolved around working with his hands and weightlifting but his favorite was spending time with family.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. He proceeded to continue his contribution to the military by providing support for the training of soldiers. He obtained two bachelor's degrees during his education. He proudly owned Precision Concrete.He leaves behind a loving wife of six years, Andrea, and daughter Cayla. He also leaves behind his loving parents Pete and Penny Reynolds, two brothers Joel and Matt, and an older sister Marcie.

He has followed in death his grandparents Jim and Charleen McRoberts and Donald and Barbara Reynolds.

Michael McArn

Michael McArn, 50, of 115 Peppertree Lane, died Monday, February 23, 2015.
Survivors are: wife, Namisha; children, Javaris, Latrisha, Darcel, Laron, Kayden McLean, Destiny Graham, Damartez Hines, Delton Graham Jr.; parents, Christanner, Pete Hailey; eight siblings; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 28 at 3 p.m. in Friendship Grove FWB Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
 Visitation will be held Friday, February 27 from 1:30 – 7 pm. at the funeral home.



Rachel A. Bolton

Rachel Ann Bolton, 69, of Raeford, died Thursday, February, 26, 2015.
Survivors are: sons, David and Dana; brothers, Ralph Jackson and Jerry Jackson; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Services will be at a later date.



Alejandro Chan-Guillermo

Alejandro Chan-Guillermo, 47, of Raeford, died Monday, February 9, 2015.
Survived by: wife, Matilde Pablo-Rayon.
The funeral will be held Friday, February 27 at 6 p.m. in Unity Chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Hidalgo, Mexico.




Christopher Evans

Christopher Evans, 77, of 2090 McNeill Farm Road, died Sunday, February 22, 2015.
Survivors are: children, Christopher Jr., Cecil and Neva; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be held Saturday, February 28 at 1 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Blue Family Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Friday, February 27 from 1:30 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

William D. Thames

William Darnell Thames, 65, of 116 Thornbird Drive, died Wednesday, February 18, 2015.
He was a military veteran.
Survivors are: son William; sisters, Carolyn Walker, Yvonne Davis, Alice Chapman and Tonya Evans; brothers, Thomas, William, and Monte McIver; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be held Thursday, February 26 at 10 a.m. in Herring Funeral Care & Cremations chapel in Fayetteville. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake.
Viewing will be held Wednesday, February 25 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Odessa P. Copeland

Pastor Odessa P. Copeland, 68, of 263 Iris St., died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015.
Survivors are: husband, Alvin Sr.; children, Angela, Alvin Jr.; brother, Joshua Peterkin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, February 24 at 2 p.m. in Leach Springs MB Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.


 

Gearlener Henegan

Gearlener Henegan, 58, of 106 Woodcreek Village, died Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015.
Survivors are:children, Tamisha Graham, Namisha McArn, LaTonya Hines; siblings, Jackie Barrett, Waltener Jefferson, Gail Headen, Debbie Smith, Frank Harris, Elijah Smith Jr.; five grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, February 25 at 2 p.m. in Mount Olive United Holy Church. Burial will be in Mountain Grove Church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 24 from 1 to 7 p.m. at Buie Funeral Home chapel in Raeford.
