Dollie M. Virgil

Dollie M. Virgil, 86, of Raeford, died Monday, Oct. 12.
Survivors are : children, Robert Virgil, Stanley Virgil, Geraldine Gay, Linda Joyce Virgil, all of Raeford, Qwenzella Wynn of Laurinburg and Georgette Darnell of Raleigh; sister, Clara Spruill of New York; eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a host of great great grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. in J.W. Turlington School. Burial will be in Highland Biblical Gardens.
Visitation Friday, Oct. 16, 1 - 7 p.m., Buie Funeral Home Chapel.

Julia P. Sydnor

Julia P. Sydnor, 65, died Thursday, October 8, 2015 in her home.
She is the daughter of the late Zinious B. Haynes and Emma D. Haynes-Prestwood, She was born April 22, 1950 in Cumberland Co. North Carolina. She was united in holy matrimony to her late husband Mr. Daniel Douglas Gray, Sr. of Washington, DC.
She loved to play cards, take care of others ,and to interact with all her family and friends. The best thing about her was, she was the most helpful and honest person in the world.
Survivors are: three sons, Erwin Jules Sydnor, Zinious Lamont Sydnor, Daniel Gray, Jr.; two daughters, Krystle Sydnor and Angel Sydnor, all of Fayetteville; five sisters, Ella Mae McMillian, Wilhemenia McNair of North Carolina, Hattie Ruth McNair, Ozella Medley both of Maryland, Sarah Doris Daniel of Louisiana; two brothers John E. Haynes of Maryland and Phillip Haynes of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Mary of Sanford, NC; Josie Stephens of Hope Mills, NC; Cheryl Vasquez of Fayetteville, NC and Melanie and Martin Jenkins of North Carolina.
A public viewing will be held Friday, October 16 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at LaFayette Funeral Home 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville.
The funeral will be held Saturday, October 17 at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church 515 Pittman Grove Church Road Raeford, NC.

Charlie W. Cooper

Charlie Wade Cooper, 76, of Raeford, NC died Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home.
He was born in Cumberland County a son of the late, David and Ella Bunce Cooper. He had worked as a surveyor for the Public Works Commission. Charlie enjoyed music and playing in "The Charlie Cooper Band", going to auctions, and NASCAR racing.
Survivors are: sons: Billy Joe Cooper and Timmy John Cooper; daughters: Catherine Gomand and Pam Hood; brothers: John Cooper, David Cooper, Jr., Thomas Cooper, Jerry Michael Cooper; his sisters: Elaine Morgan, Mary Ann Bedwell, Victoria Woo, Dorothy Chilton; and 9 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Saint Pauls Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Philip Martin Woods officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Charlie's name to Saint Pauls Funeral Home.

Samuel Hunt

Samuel Hunt, 44, of Red Springs died Sunday, October 11, 2015 in his home.
He is preceded in death by his father, James Albert Hunt.
Survivors are: son, Samuel Hunt; daughters, Samantha Hunt, Savannah Hunt,
and Santana Hunt; mother, Maggie Hunt; sisters, Bobbie Hunt-Jacobs and Jacqueline Chavis; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 14 at 2:30 p.m. in South Hoke Baptist Church with the Rev. David Hunt officiating. Burial will be church cemetery. 
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Red Springs.
