Edgar "Eddie" Miller Baker, Sr. of Raeford died, Friday, January 22, 2016 in his home at the age of 69.
He was born in Hoke County on August 11, 1946 to the late Charles David Baker and Sula Mae Hardister Baker. He was the owner of Cross Creek Seed, Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne Johnson Baker of Raeford; two sons, Edgar Miller Baker, Jr. and his wife Kristen, and Sam Baker and his wife Mary Louise; a daughter, Worthy Baker McFadyen and her husband Tom; 10 grandchildren, Mabel Baker, Jeb Baker, Evie Baker, Catherine McFadyen, Amanda Worthy McFadyen, Thomas McFadyen, Sadie Baker, Sam Baker, Jessie Baker, and Lainey Baker; two brothers, Charles Baker and his wife Susie of Fayetteville, and Bobby Baker and his wife Janet of Mooresville; and a sister, Linda Huff and her husband Ralph of Fayetteville. 2-9 p.m.
A graveside service will be held in the Raeford Cemetery at 11 a.m. Monday, January, 25, 2016 with the Rev. James Wilhide officiating.

Susie McKee Dedie, 62, owner of the Yorkie House, died early Wednesday morning, January 20, 2016, in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital. She was born in Fayetteville to the late William and Kathleen Brunson McKee. She was a graduate of Massey Hill High School and was best known as the owner and operator of the Yorkie House in Raeford. She was a member of Faith Community Church in Fayetteville. She was preceded in death by a nephew, Dennis Ridley. Survivors are: her loving husband of 27 years, Tim Dedie of the home; sister, Linda McKee Ridley and husband Dave of Fayetteville; niece, Sherry Ridley Koonce and husband Mitchel of Fayetteville; great-nieces and nephews, Danyelle Ridley, Mitchell David and Tyler Koonce all of Fayetteville and Lacey Ridley Alford and her son Trevor both of Panama City, FL; and an aunt, Charlotte Banks of Fayetteville. A private service for the family was held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be made to ASPCA.
Naomi Carpenter Roper, 69, of Raeford, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016. Survivors are: her husband, John Roper; sons, John Roper of Nashua, New Hampshire and Kendrick Roper of Raeford; stepdaughter, Sandra Harrington; sisters, Queen E. McCall and Annie C. Smith of Raeford and Eve Mae Carpenter of Montclair, New Jersey; brothers, Robert Carpenter, Frank Carpenter(Romine), and William "Neal" Carpenter(Teresa) all of Raeford; sister-in-laws, Annie Carpeneter, Vernetta Carpenter, Maryland McKoy(Tim) and Elosie Ratliff, all of Raeford, Mary Monroe of Lumber Bridge and Dorothy McKinnon of Durham; brother-in-laws, Herman Moody and Robert Moody of Raeford: three grandchildren; and a host of relatives and friends. The funeral was held Sunday, January 17 at 2 p.m. in J.W. Turlington School. Burial was in McLauchlin Chapel Cemetery.
Sr. Robert Tarbutton, 77, of Raeford, died Wednesday, January 13, 2016. The funeral will be held Tuesday, Januray 19 at 10 a.m. in Unity Chapel at Cliffdale in Fayetteville. Burial will take place at a later date.
