Charles Lindberg "Lindy" Ellis of Raeford, passed away Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 89.
He was born November 29, 1927 in Hoke County to the late Ras B. Ellis and Alice New Ellis. He was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and was employed with N.C. Department of Transportation as an equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Delauris B. Ellis of Raeford; a daughter, Gail E. Jackson and her husband David of Fayetteville; a son, Lynn Ellis and his wife Lisa of Raeford; two grandchildren, Allyson Jackson-Steen and her husband Chet, and Lucas Ellis and his wife Frankie; and five great-grandchildren, Caden, Easton, Ellison, Charlie and Cash.
A visitation will be held 2-3 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral will follow the visitation at 3 p.m. in the chapel.
Burial will be in Raeford Cemetery.
