Regina Sargent


Regina Faye (Rogers) Sargent of Raeford passed away in her home on August 10, 2017 at the age of 61.
She was born in Kershaw County, South Carolina on May 12, 1956 to Raphu Rogers and Annie Mae Scott Rogers. She will always be remembered for her unfiltered sense of humor and her love of beach music. She could always find peace at the beach and enjoyed walking along the shore looking for shark teeth. After retiring from Walmart, and moving back home from Michigan, she  attended Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Raphu and her sister, Cindy Rogers.
She leaves behind her daughter, Melissa Chason (Michael Council) of Fayetteville; her son, Willie Chason (Ashley Sheryl) of Fayetteville; her mother, Annie Mae Rogers of Raeford; her brother, Glenn Rogers (Sherry) of Hope Mills; her sisters, Kathy Long (Jerry) of Raeford, and Sue Parnell (David) of Kinley, Debra Christian (Ray) of Avondale, Arizona; and six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Edy, Michael, Willie, Waylon, and Delana. 
The family will receive friends at Crumpler Funeral Home6-8 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2017.
The funeral will be held at 3p.m. August 13, 2017 at the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Janice L. Taylor

Janice Leigh Taylor, 60, of Sanford passed away, Saturday, August 5, 2017.

She is survived by her sisters, Judith C. Moore of Lillington, and Kathy L. Woodell of Fuquay-Varina..

There will be no serivces. Arrangements  are by Cape Fear Crematory, Inc.

Laura M. Sutton

Laura McDougald Sutton, daughter of the late Daniel A McDougald and the late Mary Virginia Gibson McDougald of Hoke County, died at age 89 on August 2, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. She attended Flora MacDonald College and was a graduate of UNC Greensboro.
She was predeceased by her husband, Bernard Sutton.
She is survived by her son Scott Sutton, his wife Yvonne, three grandchildren Kevin, Keith and Kyle, sister Helen Craver of Naples, Florida and sister-in-law Isabelle McDougald of Raeford.
Services will be private with internment in Raeford Cemetery.

Donnie F. Carter

Donnie Forest Carter of Hope Mills passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Highsmith Rainey Hospital at the age of 57.

He was born in Fayetteville on August 23, 1959 to the late Forest "Bunk" Carter and Myrtle Norris Carter. He retired from Black and Decker. He has always enjoyed visiting the mountains and reading. A lover of precious gems, antiques, and other unique items, he always kept people on their toes with his dry sense of humor.

He leaves behind his sons, Joshua Carter of Raeford, and Benjamin Carter of Raeford; his sister, Betty Craig Deppert of N. Myrtle Beach; and the mother of his sons, Pamela Harden of Raeford.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at the Church of God of Prophecy in Raeford. The family will receive friends and family following the service in the fellowship hall.
