Norman L. White

Norman Lenzy White of Raeford died November 30, 2020 at age 88.
He was born November 29, 1932 in Fulton County Arkansas to the late Fred Lenzy White and Effie Ellington White. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. While in Korea he was a machine gunner where he was injured by a mortar round and lost his eye. He was awarded the Purple Heart and was a lifetime member of the VFW in Raeford. He was active in and received a 25-year certificate as a member of the Red Spring Masonic Lodge 501, where he was awarded Mason of the Yyear in 2004, was Past Master in 2009, and later joined the Raeford Masonic Lodge # 306.  
He is survived by his wife Louise McDowell White of Raeford; a special stepdaughter, Gail M. Beasley (Larry) of Sanford; stepdaughter Shirley Obenauf (Marv) of Idaho; and a stepson, Ray Quick (Frances) of Raeford.
A graveside memorial service with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 2020 at Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs.
