Henry Everett Bowen of Raeford died Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at age 88.
He was born in Scotland County on October 3, 1932 to the late Walter Prince Bowen and Donnie Sessoms Bowen.
He was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church all his life and served as an Elder, Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, and a member of the church choir. He retired from Hoke County Sheriff's Dept. and North Carolina Division of Prisons.
He is preceded in death by his brother, John Walter Bowen. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Etta O'Lee Walters Bowen of Raeford; his daughter Gail Webb and her husband Lin of Fayetteville; his son Ricky Bowen and wife Sylvia of Raeford; four grandchildren, Keith Webb and his wife Erica, Valerie Webb, Jeremy Bowen, Kristy Nolan and her husband Kevin; and four great-grandsons, Conyer and Cameron Webb, Karson and Karter Nolan.
A graveside service was held Friday, August 20, 2021, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. James Wilhide officiating.
