She was born July 10, 1921 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Duncan and Katie Bell Jones Carmichael. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late Clyde Washington Teal. She and her late husband were the owners of Teal Oil Company that operated in Raeford for more than 30 years. She served as a faithful member for 70 years of the Raeford United Methodist Church and a former member of Caledonia United Methodist Church. She was very active in her church and involved with her Bible Circle Group and Sunday school class. Her love and devotion to her family, her faith to her church, her loyalty to her friends and her acts of kindness to those in need will be remembered by those who knew and loved her.
Survivors are: daughters, Jean Harris and husband John of Cary, Ann Walker and husband Wayne of Durham, and Linda Teal of Raeford; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held Thursday, May 14 at noon in Raeford United Methodist Church with the Dr. Steve Castle officiating. Burial will follow in the Raeford Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11 a.m. prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church.
