Leon Miller

William Leon Miller Sr. of Fayetteville, 64, formerly of Raeford, died Friday, April 22, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lumberton on December 15, 1957.
He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Davis Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Sherri Walker Miller of Fayetteville, and his children, Leon Miller Jr. (Diana Boyd), Samantha Miller, Joseph Deluca, and Chris Walker, all of Fayetteville; two grandchildren, Briana Kelly, and Justin Fogle, both of Fayetteville; his father, Myrl Leon Miller of Fayetteville; two brothers, John Miller (Teresa) of Mt. Gilead, and Glenn Miller (Kelly) of Greensboro; and a sister-in-law, Kim Strickland (Greg) of Wade.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Hope Mills Church of God, 4830 Cameron Road, Hope Mills, with Pastor Wesley Holmes officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Eleanor Thomas

Eleanor Thetis Thomas, 85, of Raeford, died Friday, April 22, 2022 in her home.
She was born in Cumberland County on October 21, 1936, daughter to the late George and Mattie Lunsford Hales. She retired from Burlington Industries after 42 years where she worked in the Spinning Department. 
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Curtis Hales, Lud Hales, George Hales, and William Hales, and a sister, Louise Sanders. 
She is survived by her daughters, Patsy Stewart and husband Douglas, and Kathy Carnal, all of Raeford; a brother, Seavy Hales and wife Lib of Raeford; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held at noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church with Pastor Tommy Underwood and Pastor Jim Crain officiating.
Burial was in Raeford City Cemetery.

James Warner Sr.

James Luther Warner Sr., 93, of Raeford, died Friday, April 22, 2022 in his home.
He was born in Hoke County on April 23, 1928 to the late James Lytch Warner and Ruth Matheson Warner. He was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church, served in the U.S. Navy from 1946 to 1948, and was a lifelong farmer in Hoke County. 
He is preceded in death by his wife, Marie Williamson, and granddaughter, Cody Nicole Warner.
He is survived by his children, James (Bubba) L. Warner and his wife, Katharine of Raeford, Richard Warner and Stephanie of Red Springs, and Victoria (Vicki) W. Pannell and her husband, Dan of Vass; two grandchildren, Jamie D. Warner of Raeford and Heath Warner of Red Springs; three great-grandchildren; and longtime companion, Mildred Maxwell.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Raeford Cemetery with Pastor Joshua Eom officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
