Isabel Gomez

Isabel Gomez died April 23, 2023, surrounded by her family, at the age of 88.

She was born on May 3, 1934 in Puerto Rico to the late Herakio and Carmen Gomez.

She was a loving mother and grandmother. She worked as a seamstress when she was younger and enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Obdulio Carrion; and two sons, Stanley Principe and Dennis Carrion Sr.

She is survived by her children, Margaret Carrion (Raul Vega, Sr.), Christopher Carrion, Stephan (Jacquiline) Gomez, Barbara Gomez Nadir (Obdulio), Emilio Canales, and Alvin Gomez; grandchildren, Sasha Marie Bosch, Adam X. Nadir, Ryan A. Nadir, Raul Vega, Jr., Imani Gomez, Stephan Gomez II, Fernando Gomez, Chris Carrion Jr., Anthony Carrion, Patrick S. Carrion, Michael Carrion, Christina Carrion, Dennis Carrion, Jr., Joseph Carrion, Stanley Principe, Jr., and Emiliana Principe; great grandchildren, Natalia Tapia, Makayla Tapia, Anaya Perez, plus 23 more; nieces and nephews, Marie DeBren, William Gomez, Angie Gomez, Helen Gomez, Manny Gomez, Daisy Gomez, Nelson Gomez, Maria Nieves, Ginnete Nieves, and Eddie Nieves.

A viewing will be held from 2-7 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. The rosary will be read Friday at 2 p.m. Prayers by Father Edison will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday.

Etta Carroll

Etta Elizabeth ‟Beth" Carroll of Fayetteville died Wednesday, April 12, 2023 in Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at the age of 35.

She was born in Halifax County on September 11, 1987 to Ovid Carroll and Lisa Johnston Carney.

She was such a loving and giving person. Some of her loves were the beach, camping, fishing, anything to do with the outdoors, cooking, dancing, singing, butterflies, but most of all her family.

Even at death, she loved as she donated her organs to help countless people in need. She will live on through all she has helped and the memories she has left with each and every one she touched.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ovid Carroll.

She is survived by her mother, Lisa Carney and husband Jeff of Lumber Bridge; a son, Austin Carroll of O'Fallon, Missouri; a daughter, Rebecca Carney of Fayetteville; her boyfriend, Austin Hart of Fayetteville; brothers, James Kittrell (Tracy) of Canada, Barnabus Carrol (Monica) of Tennessee, Danny Carroll of Virginia, JT Carney (Tara) of St. Pauls and Jason Carney of Fayetteville; sisters, Sheila Kittrell of Raeford, Lisa Carroll of Grays Creek, and Helen Carroll of Fayetteville; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and her grand dog, Chewy.

A service to celebrate her life was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Crystal Springs Chapel, 1465 Crystal Springs Road, Fayetteville, NC 28306 with Rev. Chris Howerton officiating. Visitation followed the service at Crystal Springs Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the children for education and general expenses in C/O Austin Carroll for Austin and Rebecca.

Sergeant First Class Terry Huttenstine

Sergeant First Class Terry Huttenstine died April 22, 2023 at the age of 72.
He was born April 13, 1950 to Mildred Harris of Aledo, Illinois.
He was a dedicated soldier, loving family man, and the hardest worker to walk this land. He loved fishing, camping, and Nascar. Terry had three passions in life till the day he crossed over which were: for God, for country, and for family. You may now rest our soldier; your battle has now been won.
He retired from the U.S Army after 22 years of service and then retired from Campbell Soup Co. after the next 17 years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mildren Harris; stepfather, Lowell Harris; brothers, George, Ronnie, and Ike; daughter, Tiffany Renee Huttenstine; grandson, Gavin Quick; and in-laws, Bobbie, and Gracie Milikin.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mona Lisa Huttenstine; children, William Quick, Robert Quick, Shannon Sutton, Stevin Huttenstine; siblings, Tony Huttenstine, and Beverly Carter; grandkids, Dakota Huttenstine, Caleb Huttenstine, Mahala Huttenstine, Makenna Huttenstine, Chayton Quick, Triston Quick, Deaglan Quick, Liam Quick, Sapphira Quick, Sarah Brown, Elijah Long, Israel Carter, and Sydney Carter; brother and sister in laws, Kay Swain, Earnest Swain, Phillip Millikin, and Wendy Millikin; and many nieces and nephews that were considered his own kids in his heart. Lastly, his best friend and brother in arms, Michael Jones and his family.
Family and friends are invited to join the family at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2023 at their home in Laurinburg.
