Ellis Locklear


Ellis Ray Locklear, age 79, of Raeford died surrounded by his family on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at his home. 
He was born in Robeson County on June the 8th, 1943 to the late Alton Locklear and Julia Mae Jackson Locklear. 
He was preceded in death by several brothers and a sister. 
Ellis was a member of Mt. Elim Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He retired from Burlington Industries in the mid 90's after 34 years of employment. 
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rachel Henderson Locklear of the home, two sons, Billy Ray Locklear and his wife Carol of Red Springs, Kevin Locklear and his wife Debbie of Raeford, two daughters, Diane Locklear and her husband Timothy of Red Springs (Hoke County), Kristy Dawn Locklear of Red Springs (Hoke County). 11 grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Sarah, Ryan and his wife Julia, Timothy, Austin, Dustin and his wife Morgan, Logan, Noah, Hannah, Jordan, Karissa, and Colten. 8 great-grandchildren, Julia, Jamison, Jared, Sofia, Makai, Gabriel, Owen, and Jolina. A brother, Clifton Locklear of Shannon NC, two sisters, Olia Mae Scott of Red Springs NC, and Dorothy Locklear of Red Springs NC. His special niece, Brenda Woriax and two special nephews Don Mikle Woods and Willie Davis Woods.   
A visitation will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022, from 6-8 pm at Mt. Elim Baptist Church 921 Wilson Rd in Red Springs and other times at the home. 
A funeral service will be held on August 21, 2022, at 3 pm Sunday at Mt Elim Baptist Church with Reverend Tony Brewington, Reverend Donnie Henderson, and Reverend Timothy Locklear officiating. 
Burial will be at the church cemetery.

James H. Hayes

James Howard Hayes 68, of Wilmington, formerly from Raeford, died Monday August 15, 2022 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Hayes, and father, Howard Hayes, Sr., daughter, April Lea Hayes, brothers William Rufus Hayes, his twin, Howard Rufus Hayes, Jr., Bert Franklin Hayes, and David Atkinson.
He is survived by his children, Donnie Hayes, Sr. (Carolyn) of Red Spring, Dawn Ransom of Red Springs, sister, Shirley Honeycutt (Lloyd) of Wilmington, Aunt Louise (Ken) Carroll of Wilmington, stepson, David Martin, and John Martin, six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is Friday, August 19 at Wilmington Funeral & Cremation from 7-8:30 p.m. A graveside Service is Saturday, August 20 at Raeford Cemetery, at 1 p.m. Rev. Rogers Burnes will officiate the service.

Robert E. Hall

Robert Eugene Hall, 64m of Red Springs (Hoke County) died Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst
He was born in Robeson County on May 27, 1958 to the late John L. Hall and Gladys Locklear Hall. He was a member of Mt Elim Baptist Church and retired from the Hoke County School System.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Don, David, John Allen, Murland, Susie, Adeline, and Faith, a special granddaughter, Shayla Baldwin, his mother-in-law, Josephine Raines, his father-in-law, Ralph Lucas, his son-in-law, Robert Studivant, his sister-in-law Shelby, and his nephew Pee Wee. 
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Vickie Hall of the home; two daughters, Tanya Studivant of Red Springs, and Stephanie Hall of Shannon; a son, Robert Hall Jr. and his wife Amy of Red Springs; four grandchildren, Jalen, Santasia, Makia, and Robert III; four great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Arielle, Alayah, and Leilani; a brother, Earl Hall of Red Springs; a sister, Sally Barham of Parkton; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Locklear (Durante) of Red Springs, and Dawna Westbrook of West Virginia; and a close friend, Patrick Hammonds of Red Springs.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Mt Elim Baptist Church, 921 Wilson Road, Red Springs.The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brewington, and Pastor Chris Webb officiating.
Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.
