Sarah M. Maxwell
She was born in Hoke County on Feb. 3, 1921 to the late Leonard McFayden and Stella Chason McFayden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry C. Maxwell. She was a member of Raeford United Methodist Church and was employed with the Bank of Raeford, which is now BB&T, before she retired.
She is survived by her daughter, Pat M. Walker and her husband John of Sanford; three grandchildren, Mitzi Barber (Mike), John Walker, Michael and Wayne Walker (Beth); and six great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kennedy, Chase, McKenzie, Collin and Clay.
Visitation will be held 2-3 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at the Raeford United Methodist Church fellowship hall.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2017 at Raeford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Wingo officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Raeford United Methodist Church 308 Main Street, Raeford, NC 28376.
James Cummings
He was born in Robeson County on June 3, 1952, to the late Acy Cummings and Mary Jane Jones Cummings. He was preceded in death by his brother, Leon Cummings. He was a member of Rock Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors are three brothers, Acy Junior Cummings of Parkton, St. Matthew Cummings of Parkton and Gary Cummings of Shannon; and one sister, Reola Cummings of Raeford.
Visitation will be held Monday, October 30, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford
Burial will be in the Oxendine Family Cemetery.

Constance "Connie" Barbee
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Southern Pines United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.

Margaret "Peggy" Harris
She was born August 2, 1941 in Scotland County to the late Dannie Hugh Wright and Hester Currie Smith Wright. She was a member of Raeford Church of God of Prophecy.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Ellis "Juice" Harris of Raeford; three daughters, Melissa H. Holland (David) of Raeford, Pamela H. Warwick (Michael) of Raeford, and Renee H. Strickland (Tommy) of Raeford; a brother, David Wright (Shirley) of Virginia; two sisters, Edna Walters of Pinebluff and Brenda Wright of Wagram; three grandchildren, Clay, Megan, and Cody; and 2 great-grandchildren, Chase and Wyatt.
A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2017, at Raeford Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Randall Snead officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Jeffrey L. Sumner
Jeffrey L. Sumner, formerly of Raeford, passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2017, in the FirstHealth Hospice House at the age of 77.
He was born on July 25, 1940 to the late Herbert and Elizabeth Sumner. He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Frances Cook Sumner; his daughter Lisa; his brothers, Grant, Conrad, Grady, Gerald; and his sisters, Beverly and Sally. A mighty man of God, and an avid outdoorsmen, Jeff will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
He is survived by his sons, Barry Lynn Sumner, Jeffrey Todd Sumner and his wife, Maria; his daughters, Melissa S. Williams,Heather S. Cummings and her husband, Keith; his brother, Gordon Sumner; his sisters, Mary Cook and her husband, Tom, Brenda Allred, and Kay Laughlin; his grandchildren, Nicole Collins, Trey Williams, Paige Sumner, Jeffrey Sumner, Jacob Sumner,Hannah and Garrett Sumner and their mother, Parker.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 25, 2017 in the Alamance Memorial Park Cemetery, 4039 S. Church St, Burlington, NC 27215.

Elizabeth "Lib" Webb
She was born October 05, 1938 in Dillon, South Carolina to the late Leaune Turner, Lubert Turner and Louise Graves Turner. She is preceded in death by her husband Jimmy Webb, a daughter, Benita Fay Webb, and two brothers, Carl Turner and Milton Turner. She was a member of the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church. She retired from Burlington after 45 years of employment.
She is survived by a sister, Connie Lewis and her husband Doug of Cape Carteret; a brother, Clyde Turner of Olney, Texas; and two sisters-in-law, Shirley Turner of Asheboro, and Melaine Turner of Concord.
A visitation will be held 1-3 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church 379 W. Palmer St., Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. following the visitation, with Pastor Roger Burns, the Rev. David Wilson and the Rev. David Walters officiating.
Interment will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Linda Lamont
She was born April 4, 1949 in Scotland County to the late John Wesley Brown and Lourena Bass Brown. She is also preceded in death by her son Andrew Lamont Jr.
She was a beloved mother, sister, grandma, aunt and friend. She had a passion for life that included travel, adventure, sewing and cooking She was a friend to all and never met a stranger. She loved her family with great passion. She was a Parkton High School beauty queen, a talented singer and pianist. As a restaurant owner she was a wonderful chef and famous for her huge Christmas morning breakfast.
She is survived by her daughters Audra McCormick and husband Mark McCormick, and Caroline Lamont Hendricks; siblings, Don Brown and wife Nancy, Cindy Brown and husband Bill, Jacque Hedgecock and husband Wayne; grandkids, Sydney Huff, Madison McCormick, Faith McCormick, and Alyssa Hendricks; nieces, Teresa Taylor and husband Frank, Rachel Homard and husband Brian; nephew Nathan Brown and wife Kali; and great-nephews Ethan Taylor, Elliott Taylor, and Asher Homard.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford with Pastor Nathan Brown officiating.
The family will have a time of visitation after the service at the funeral home.

Sgt. First Class Johnny A. White II
Sgt. First Class Johnny Anthony White II, 35, of Raeford, formerly of Orlando, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017.
He is survived by his wife, Cerissa White of Raeford; his daughter, Hayden White of Raeford; his son, Jayden White of Raeford; mother, Deborah Troup Cherenfant of Orlando; sisters, Jacquelyn Palms and husband, Troy of West Lake, Louisiana, Jennifer White of San Antonio, Texas, Reba Lawson and husband, Cambric of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Whitney Grainger and husband, Glen of San Antonio; his father, Johnnie A. White Sr. of Orlando; a brother, Griff Brown of Orlando; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.\
The funeral with full military honors will be held at noon Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in Rogers and Breece Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Willie DeWitt Troup Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2017 at the funeral home.
David R. McNeill
David Russ McNeill, 57, of Hope Mills died Tuesday October 17 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Born in Virginia, he was the son of the late Clifford and Frances McNeill. He was retired from the Hoke County Sheriff's Department. He was a Tar Heel fan, a Miami Dolphin fan, and a New York Yankee fan.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila McNeill; daughters, Kristina Martell and husband Manny of Georgia, Jessica McQueen and husband John of Wilmington, and Virginia McNeill of Hope Mills; sons, Stephen McNeill and fiancée Natalia of Richmond, Virginia, and Johnathan McNeill of Hope Mills; and grandchildren, Adam, Justin, Dominic and Bella.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
