Eleanor Gentry

Eleanor Stewart Gentry of Raleigh, formerly of Raeford, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 84. A native of Roxboro, she is the daughter Charles and Elizabeth Stewart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bobby Marshall Gentry.
She is survived by two sons, Gary Gentry and wife Susan, and Mark Gentry (Tami Miller); a daughter, Marsha Robeson and husband Robert; her brother, James Stewart and wife Diana; sister-in-law Betty Stewart; grandchildren Marshall Gentry, Lucas Gentry and wife Kathryn, Kathleen Robeson, Kelly Robeson and Liam Gentry; a great-grandson, Caden Gentry; nieces Beth Johnson, Elizabeth O'Briant, Patricia Norris, Bonnie Perkins, Gayle Troutman, and Caroline Roy; and nephews Chuck Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Jamie Stewart, Court Stewart, William Garrett, Steve Garrett, Carlton Niven, Mel Wrenn, Matt Wrenn, Tim O'Briant, and Robert O'Briant.
The family will receive friends Friday June 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 16, 2018 in the Raeford United Methodist Church in Raeford. Burial will follow at the Raeford Cemetery.

Elsie H. Jacobs

Elsie Henderson Jacobs, 77, of Red Springs, died June 9, 2018.
She was born to Ada and Newberry Locklear on December 3, 1940. 
Her passion and love for God was always at the forefront of her life. She never sought notoriety for herself. She was one of the most humble people about her gifting. The way she loved was amazing; everyone always felt like her favorite because she made them feel that way.  She was a true servant of God.  She did what she did out of the goodness of her heart, never expecting anything in return.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Angela Jacobs; three brothers, Alford Henderson, Warner "Tom" Henderson, and Willie "Farbie" Locklear; and two sisters, Annie Bell Locklear and Cenora Henderson. 
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband Willie Jacobs of the home; two daughters, Linda and Tim Beaman, and Charlene and Anthony Locklear; a son, Will and Shelli Jacobs; five grandchildren, Heather and Austin Maynor, Ashley and Joshua Barton, Ashton Locklear, Garret Locklear and Austin McPhail; a step-grandson, Clint Beaman; two great-granddaughters, Nylah Grace and Catilaya Jade; a great-grandson on the way; a brother, Sanford Maynor; two sisters, Rency Godwin and Polly Stewart; and a special family friend, whom she loved as a son, the Rev. David Hun. 
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. at Mt. Elim Baptist Church on Wednesday, June 13.
The funeral will be Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Elim Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mona T. Harvey

Mona T. Harvey, age 56, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2018 in Raeford.
She was born in Ft. Dix, New Jersey on September 10, 1961 to the late Samuel and Isabell McCartney.
She was preceded in death by her brother, William McCartney.
Survivors are her husband, Cecil Harvey Jr. and her son, Cecil Harvey III, both of Raeford; and five sisters, Deborah Tolbert and her husband David, Laura Campbell, Brenda Adkins, Glenda Kilpatrick and her husband Tom, and Sandy Wilson and her husband George.
Visitation will be at the home, 1120 Diehl Street, Raeford from 2 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018.
A private memorial service will be held for the family.
