Timothy Watson

Timothy Lee Watson of Raeford died November 23, 2023, and went to his heavenly home to be with his mom, at the age of 66.

He was born June 15, 1957 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Willie and Mary Mageline Watson.

He loved wrestling, playing pool, and was a die-hard Giants fan.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his older brother, Jeffery C. Rabon.

He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Watson; sisters, Linda Hendrix of Raeford, and Dawn Bertram of Ontario; grandchildren, Tamara Hunt, Cody Hunt, Ambria Hunt, Bethany Hunt, Joey Hunt Jr.; great-grandchildren, Noah, Gracelyn, Cason, Ryleigh, Chloe, and Brentley; two nephews; one niece; and his very special friend Tammy Davis.

A visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 26, 2023 in the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends at 448 W. Palmer Street, Raeford, N.C. 28376.

Robert Gibson

Robert Vance "Van" Gibson of Raeford died November 26, 2023 at the age of 73.

He was born October 23, 1950 in Scotland County to the late Robert H. Gibson Jr. and Elizabeth Baker Seago.

He was a lifelong member of the Raeford Presbyterian Church. He was a retired CPA and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Gibson.

He is survived by his daughter, Beth Peedin (Jeff), of Smithfield, and their daughter, Jillian Peedin; brother, Danny Gibson (Jennie), of Raeford; niece, Kimberly Brock, and her children, Grayson and Harper Brock; nephew, Will Gibson and his daughter Ava Gibson.

A visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2023 in the Raeford Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. A service will follow at 11 a.m. in the Church Sanctuary. Burial will follow in the Raeford Cemetery.
