Woodrow G. Beard

Woodrow (Woody) Glenn Beard of Red Springs passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton at the age of 74.
He was born on September 9, 1944 in Fayetteville to the late Jasper Lee Beard and Beulah Spell Beard. He was a member of the Cedar Creek Hunting Club and a former member of the Bonnie Doone Volunteer Fire Department in Fayetteville.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Womack Beard of Red Springs; four sons, Woodrow Glenn Beard II, (Maria) of Ocala, Florida, David Beard (Terry) of Ocala, Shelton Lee Beard (Natasha) of Red Springs, and Matthew Beard (Kesha)of Maxton; 11 grandchildren, Glenn III, Brandon, Shelby, Jordan, Brittany, Ashley, Shelton II, Briana, Nevaeh, Keylona, and Matthew Jr.; five grea-grandchildren, Caden, Olivia, Jaelynn, Maddox and Tucker; and a brother, James Beard (Beverly) of Fayetteville.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 7-9 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford.
A memorial service will be announced later.

David A. Elledge

David Allen Elledge of Raeford passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center at the age of 64.
He was born in Laurinburg on November 22, 1953 to Benjamin A. Elledge and Hazel O. Elledge.
In his earlier years he loved playing his bass guitar in various local bands. He enjoyed low-rider competitions, winning several first place trophies with his truck.
His parents preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Hye Elledge of Raeford, a daughter Melissa Elledge of New York, New York, a brother, Jimmy Elledge of Raeford,and  a sister, Bonita Attwood of Rowland. 
A private service will be held at a later date.
