Linda Smith Boddie

Linda Smith Boddie died February 4, 2024.
She was born in Breckenridge County, Kentucky. She was the last surviving child of six of Rowland and Della Smith.
She was the wife of William Willis Boddie Jr. of Oxford. She received her education from Holt School in Breckenridge County, Kentucky. As a member of Delrayno Baptist Church, she was active in the WMU, the church choir, the social committee, and many other church activities. She was a homemaker, raising three children, however she had a life filled with many careers ranging from a crane operator at an aluminum plant to owning her own restaurant called TJ Subs in Oxford. Being raised on a farm, she was comfortable doing many activities such as gardening, fishing, hunting, and driving her brothers bulldozer. Thursday afternoon skip-bo games with her special friends was also an enjoyment for her. Most of all, she like doing the Lord's work and being with her church family. She had a special gift of loving and truly caring for people and she always put other's needs before her own.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, William Boddie; daughter Gale Dickerson (Garry) Oxford; six grandchildren: Melinda Merrell, Clarksville; Doug Wentworth (Kate), Russellville, Kentucky; Carey Wentworth, Oxford; Fallon Jackson (Ronnie), Fayetteville; Nick Parson, Shelby; TJ Parsons, Shelby; seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her two sons, Terry Parsons of Shelby and Jack Goodwin of Fayetteville.
The family received friends at noon February 7 at Delrayno Baptist Church with funeral services held immediately following at 1 p.m. Services conducted by Reverend Joe Don Cooper. Burial followed at Elmwood cemetery.

William Ferguson

William Ferguson died January 31, 2024 at the age of 52.

He was born November 5, 1971.

A celebration of life was held at 4 p.m. Thursday, February 8 at the Buie's Funeral Home chapel.

George Bishop

George Weldon Bishop of Dundarrach died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at the age of 84.

He was born December 17, 1939 in Spartanburg, South Carolina to the late Willie and Cleo Bishop.

He was a member of the Dundarrach Community Church where he served as Elder. After many years with the North Carolina Public School system, he retired as the transportation director. He loved to spend time with his family, and be outdoors farming, and on his tractor. He was fun-loving and enjoyed visiting the beach with his wife in his spare time.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Tommy Bishop; brother, Garvin Bishop; and sisters Audrey Page, and Mary Murray.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny; daughter, Kathy Choy (Tim); grandchildren, Jennifer Phillips (Eric Maitland) and Michael Bishop; brother, Randall Bishop; sisters, Nancy Moormann, Laura Stone, and Juline Walters; and two great-grandsons, Eric and Evan Maitland.

A visitation was held from 2-3 p.m. Saturday, February 10, 2024, in the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel. A service followed at 3 p.m. with Terry Dooley, Dr. Ray Harris, and Dwight Jackson officiating. Burial was held in the Raeford Cemetery.

Bergouhi Knarian McNutt

Bergouhi Knarian McNutt died peacefully Wednesday, February 07, 2024 at the age of 94.

She was born June 14, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Parsek and Zvart Knarian.

When she was 13, her family moved to a farm in Bloomingdale, Michigan. She lived in Kalamazoo, Michigan until she was 80 before moving to Kentucky to live with her daughter, Colleen. In 2023, she moved with Colleen to North Carolina.

She loved her children and family. She worked at Macy's, and also as an inspector for Gibson Guitar and General Motors. She liked to read, spend time with her large extended family, go to the senior center to play bingo and dominoes, and enjoyed dressing up for Halloween.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Vahakn Knarian, Vahram Knarian, and Vahee Knarian; her beloved dog Toby; and cat Sicia.

She is survived by her children Jerry McNutt Jr. (Susan), Marcia Gillette (Charles), Marie Kimble, and Colleen Baker; sister Margaret Baber; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous extended relatives.

She will be laid to rest at Mount Everest Cemetery in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
