Margaret Ann Clark

Margaret Ann Clark (nee Johnson) passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on October 11, 2021; beloved wife of the late William "Bill" Clark, Jr.; loving mother of Lydia Faye Wohlhueter, Charles H. (Carole) Thomas and Randal S. (Beverly) Thomas; step-mother of Susan (Robert) Waite, Sandra Garvin, Carolyn (Robert) Redding and the late David M. Clark; cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; predeceased by her parents, Charles B. and Mattie Johnson; dear sister of the late Charles B.Johnson, Jr., Nancy J. Barnes and Edwin A. Johnson.


After moving to Western New York as a young lady, she returned to visit Hoke County many times over the years, especially her beloved Philippi Presbyterian Church. Margaret was proud of her North Carolina heritage. Margaret was a deacon and elder in the Presbyterian Church.


Margaret also was a former member of the 20th Century Club of Buffalo for 22 years and a member of the Buffalo Yacht Club.


William "Bill" Clark passed on September 30, 2021 just 11 days prior to Margaret's passing. Funeral Services were held in Ocotober 2021 at North Presbyterian Church in Williamsville, NY. A joint memorial/ burial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. on Saturday May 7, 2022 at Philippi Presbyterian Church, 6498 Philippi Church Rd. Raeford, NC 28376

Franklin Lewis

Franklin Neil (Frankie) Lewis, 59 of Raeford, died Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the home of his sister, Brenda Faye Lewis.
He was born in Clinton to the late Geneva Faye Byrd Lewis and Norwood Neil Lewis. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Lewis. He was an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family. He was employed with Bradshaw's Painting in Hope Mills.
He is survived by three children, Christopher Lewis (Maqueesha) of Salemburg, Heather Flanary (Kris) of Hope Mills, and Megan Fleeger (Jarrod) of Mebane; 2 grandchildren, Kopeland Flanary and Skye Senger; 2 sisters, Brenda Faye Lewis of the home and Tammy Krumwiede (Scott) of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and 7 nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jacqueline, Wayne, Genie, Joseph, Abigail, and Allison.
Visitation will be h6-7 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.
A private memorial graveside service will be held later at the Byrd Family Cemetery.

Jerry Stephenson

Jerry Edgar Stephenson of Fayetteville died Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the age of 42.
He was born in Fayetteville on February 3, 1980. He was preceded in death by his mother Iris Burchett Fowler. He was employed with Omni Moving and Storage in Fayetteville. He was a member of the America Pool Players Association. 
He is survived by his wife, Kerry Lynn Williams Stephenson of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters Breanna Ammons (John) of VA, Michaela Skipper (Matthew) of Fayetteville; 3 step-grandchildren, his father Rodney Keith Stephenson (Rebecca) of Fayetteville; and two uncles Hans Burchett (Pat) of (Hoke County) Parkton, and Karl Burchett of Dubai.
Visitation will be held from 11 to  noon on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford
The funeral will follow at noon at the funeral home with Pastor Roger Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Eros Johnson

Eros Scull Johnson of Raeford died at her home on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 67.
She was born in Hoke County on September 24, 1954 to the late John William Scull Jr. and Elenor Edwards Scull.  She was retired from the Cumberland School system as a teacher. She rescued many animals and enjoyed horseback riding with her husband before his death.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Frank Johnson (Rachel) of Raeford; three grandchildren, Dallas Johnson, Shelby Johnson, and Sydney Johnson; a sister, Hilda Scull Bukowski of Pittsboro; two brothers, Jody Scull of Small, South Carolina, and Walter Edwards Scull of Columbia, South Carolina; and a brother-in-law Terry Johnson, and his wife Cathy of Raeford.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Avenue, Raeford, NC, with Pastor Roger Burns officiating. The family will receive friends after the service.
