Bobby Conerly Jr.

 

Bobby Conerly, Jr.,  age 58, died Wednesday, April 2, 2015.

He was preceded in death by his parents Bobby, Sr. and Mattie Conerly, and brother Stephen Conerly.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, April 7 from 1 to 2 p.mThe funeral will be Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Hopewell United Methodist Church, Newton Grove, the Rev. Adam Brinkley officiating. Burial will be at Hopewell United Methodist Church Cemetery.


 

Survivors

He is survived by a daughter, Amy Shelton and husband Joshua of Wilmington; grandchildren Christopher and Eli Shelton; sister Marci Johnson and husband Keith of Autryville; brothers John Conerly and wife Jean of Newton Grove and  Michael Conerly and wife Sonia of Fuquay Varina.

Jack C. Beasley

Jack Currie Beasley, 87, of Cashiers, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of Hoke County and a Merchant Marine Navy veteran, he was the son of the late Chester Robert and Ruby Margaret Bouyer Beasley. He was preceded in death by a son Mark Beasley and a brother C.B. Beasley.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lorena Corbin Beasley; one daughter Christi Cain of Fayetteville; one son Jack Beasley Jr. of Sandusky, Ohio; six sisters, Betty Simmons, Delauris Ellis, Joyce Bostic, Helen Jackson, Mickey McNeill, and Barbara Daniels; three brothers, Sam, Bucky, and Wayne Beasley; five grandchildren, Sarah Beasley, Michael Beasley, Summer Skye Kane, Jacob Spell and Jesse Cain; and two great-grandchildren, Jack Kane and Addison Patterson.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2015 at Norton Community Cemetery with the Rev. Johnny Norris officiating. No formal visitation is planned.
Melton Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Curtiss McLaughlin

Curtiss McLaughlin, 76, of Southern Pines died Saturday, March 28, 2015.
Survivors are: his wife, Hattie McLaughlin; son, Antonio McLaughlin; seven stepchildren, Roger, Direk, Carlette, Chanel, Maria, Melinda, and Denise; sister, Daisy Byrd; three brothers, Claude McQueen, Lester McQueen, and Linwood Wright; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held Thursday, April 2 at 1 p.m. in Grace Church of Southern Pines.  Burial will be held in the Aberdeen Cemetery in Aberdeen.  Visitation will be held in Grace Church one hour prior to service.  

 



Harron W. Carson

Harron Willeek Carson, 23, of Aberdeen, died Thursday, March 26, 2015 in FirstHealth Moore Regional.
Survivors are: mother, Bernice Thompson; father, Harry Lee Carson; sisters, Shamika Braziel, Iesha Carson, and Kenya Hannah; brothers, De'Adrian Braziel and Harry Carson.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 3 at 1 p.m. at Christ's Way Community Church in Aberdeen. Viewing will be held Thursday, April 2 from 3 to 6 p.m. at Purcell Funeral Home in Southern Pines.

Edna B. Moore

Edna Faye Blackwell Moore of St. Pauls died March 29, 2015 at Autumn Care of Raeford at the age of 73.

She was born in Warrenton on April 25, 1941, to the late Benjamin and Edna Bryson Blackwell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Moore and her brother, Charles Blackwell. She was the co-owner of Trash and Treasure in St. Pauls.

She is survived by a special friend Alvin Money of St. Pauls; two sisters, Rosetta Sheeder (Arthur) of Fayetteville, and Bonnie Davis (Richard) of Raeford; brother Willis Blackwell of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015

A memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday April 1, 2015 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford with Herman Autry, Ruling Elder, PCUSA officiating.

Sarah Dobbins

Sarah Dobbins, 89, of Raeford, died Saturday, March 21, 2015.
Survivors are: son, George; sisters, Dornetta Nicholson and Lena Simpson; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and 28 great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m. in Buie Funeral Home chapel in Raeford. Burial was in McLaughlin Chapel Church cemetery.
