Larry Woodcox

Larry Allen Woodcox Sr. of Hoke County died with his family at his bedside on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at age 74.
He was born on September 29, 1947 in Hoke County to the late Robert Oliver Woodcox and Nellie Brisson Woodcox.  
He was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church and retired from Burlington Industries after 50 years of employment.  He enjoyed fishing at Carolina and Kure Beaches, hunting for a big buck (hoping for a 12-point), and growing a beautiful garden full of vegetables that he shared with family and friends. He was also known for raising quail for years and could cook them to perfection.  
He was preceded in death by his precious son, Larry Allen Woodcox Jr. (Allen), a brother, Bobby Woodcox, and two sisters, Frances Blake and Helen Lentz.  
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pat Black Woodcox of Hoke County, a daughter, Christina (Tina) Woodcox Bernhardt and her husband Royce of Raeford, a brother, David Earl Woodcox of Raeford, and two sisters, Nellie Haselden (Bill) of Raeford, and Gail Dudash (Bob) of Harper's Ferry, West Virginia.
Visitation is 1-2 p.m. Thursday June 16 at Ephesus Baptist Church, Raeford. A service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Wayne Sanderson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service.

Gloria Yancey

Gloria June "Granny" Yancey of Butner died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at FirstHealth Hospice House in Pinehurst, at age 81.
She was born in Mecklenburg County on September 30, 1940 to the late Joseph Sinclair Graham and Leola Caldwell Howard Graham. 
She retired from Murdoch Development Center in Butner.
She was preceded in death by her husband Otis Graham Yancey.
She is survived by a daughter Tara E. Carpenter and her husband Jamie of Raeford; two granddaughters, Morgan E. Ramsey, and Ashlyn B. Ramsey both of Stovall; and a brother-in-law, Dale Yancey and his wife Sandra of Creedmoor.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2022 at Living Faith Ministries Church, Raeford with Pastor Tex Deaton and Pastor Eddie Mauldin officiating.
Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
