Hugh A. McKenzie

Hugh Arch McKenzie III, 67, of Shannon, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 in Raeford.
He was born in Lumberton on February 17, 1951 to the late Hugh Arch "Bill" McKenzie, Jr and the late Mary Magdalene Sides McKenzie. He graduated from Hoke County High School in 1969. He is preceded in death by his sister, Sue McKenzie Gardner, and his brother, John Timothy McKenzie.
He was skilled at interior home painting and construction work. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing. He was a self-taught guitarist and artist. His paintings were of fish he caught in local ponds.
He is survived by his sister, Joyce D. McKenzie of Chapel Hill.
A graveside service at Antioch Presbyterian Church Cemetery will be conducted at 11:00 am on Wednesday, February 27, 2019with the Reverend Jim Smith officiating.

Bobby Lee

Bobby Lee of Raeford passed away on Thursday, Feb. 14, 2019 in UNC Chapel Hill at the age of 72.
He was born in Cumberland County on May 27, 1946 to Grady Lee and Frances Lee. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Darlene Byers Lee.
He is survived by four daughters, Shenna Earl (Don) of Danville, Illinois, Bobbie Faye Wright (David) of Thomasville, Mary Lee of Parkton, and Ellen Rockholt (Dean) of Carthage; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A private service will be held later.

Benamin R. Faulk

Benjamin Ray Faulk of Raeford passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital at the age the of 80.
He was born in Scotland County of December 11, 1938 to Nathaniel and Vera Tant Faulk, who preceded him in death. He retired from Burlington Industries after 43 years. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a nephew, Timothy J. Roberts (Michalee) of Raeford; three nieces, Jennifer Britt, Letisha Quick and Elizabeth Gainey all of Raeford; and 14 great-nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Raeford Cemetery.

Doreen G. Davis

Doreen G. Davis passed away on February 13, 2019 at Dosher Memorial Hospital in Southport.
She was born in Quedgley, Gloucester, England on May 1, 1925. She was the daughter of the late George T. and Violet Green. She met and married her husband, Paul B. Davis, during World War II when he was stationed in England. On February 10, 1946 she arrived in New York on the liner, The Queen Mary, a "bride ship," and traveled by train to Raeford,  where she and her husband would live and raise their family.
In 1954 she became an American citizen.
After her husband's passing, she returned to school and received an LPN degree from Sandhill's Community College. She worked at the McCain Correctional Facility until her retirement. 
She is a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church were she enjoyed singing in the choir. She participated in the Sunday school classes, and the ladies circles. She was also a den mother of a Cub Scout troop when her children were young.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Brown (Brownie) Davis; brothers, Jeffery Green, Bernard Green and Christopher Green, all of England; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jasper E. and Mary Catherine (Kitty) C. Davis of Raeford; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Blythe Pait of North Wilkesboro; her children, Pauline D. Pait (Frank J Pait, III), Buford L. (Beau) Davis (Iryna), Paul B. Davis, Jr. (Agnes), Susan D. Gill (Thomas) and William G. (Will) Davis (Donna); grandchildren, Frank J. Pait, IV (Sheila), Christopher Davis, Bradley P. Davis, Leslie A. Davis and Mary Gray Davis; great-grandchildren, Tyler D. Pait, Baylor J. Pait, and Avery Davis; sisters in England, Joyce Byrd, Jean Golding, Dolly Clutterbuck, Evelyn Atkinson and Christine Philp; and her husband's brother and his wife, E. Woodrow and Charlotte H. Davis of Southern Pines.
Visitation will be held at the Crumpler Funeral home in Raeford, Saturday February 16, 2019 from 1-3 p.m. and a graveside service will follow at the Raeford Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in the memory of Mrs. Doreen G Davis to Raeford United Methodist Church.
