Joseph Gordon Jr.

Joseph Gordon Jr., 64, of 327 Hill Street, died Thursday, July 18, 2013.
He was an Army Vetern.
Survivors are: daughter, Nugyet Evette Hayes, of Greensboro; sisters, Lillie G. Baldwin of Greensboro, Hattie G. Fuller of Rockville, Maryland, Betty G. Kelly of Raeford, Bernice G. Quick of Greensboro, Emma G. Carpente rof Raeford, Ruthie Rogers of Wagram, Bobbie Gordon-Lilly of Hope Mills, Doris G. Thomas of Pinehurst, and Miyoshi Gordon-Matthews of Orlando, Florida; brother, Sidney Gordon of Raleigh; and seven grandchildren.
The funeral was held Tues., Jul. 23 at 2 p.m. in Freedom Chapel AMEZ Church. Burial was in church cemetery.

Charles (Steve) Davis

Charles Stephen (Steve) Davis of 109 East Donaldson Avenue Raeford, died Tuesday July 23, 2013 in his home at the age of 62.
He was born June 4, 1951 in Hoke County to the late Thomas Davis and Edith Ashburn Davis. He was a correctional officer.
He is preceded in death by his companion Frances Ward- Green Jones.
He is survived by many relatives in Hoke County.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday July 26, 2013 at the Raeford Cemetery, with the Rev. Dr. Steve Castle officiating.

Roberta M. Rybka, 80, of Raeford, died Sunday, July 14, 2013. She was an Army veteran.
Survivors are: sons, Keith and Rick Martin; daughter, Kathy Cruz; brother, David Seanor; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The service will be private.

Virginia L. Long

Virginia Lee Long, 63, of Raeford, died Friday, July 19, 2013.
Survivors are: children, James Jr., Gregory, Kevin, Daniel, Henry, Lisa Garner, Kristin, June, Kimberly Miller, April; sisters, Linnea Puumala and Sharon Zieglemeir; 13 grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sun., Jul. 21 at 3 p.m. Sunday at Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church.

Martha Soldwedel

Martha Soldwedel, 88, of 1206 N. Fulton St., died Thursday, July 18, 2013.
The graveside service was held Sat., Jul. 20 at 9 a.m. in Raeford Cemetery.
