Curtis Gene Hardin of Mt. Gilead, formerly of Raeford, passed away on Friday, April 5, 2019 at his home at the age of 81.
He was born on March 3, 1938 to Queenie Ester Koonce Hardin and James Franklin Hardin. He was preceded in death by his brother Grady Hardin. He was a member of Pittman Grove Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Hardin Grocery in Rockfish before he retired.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce M. Hardin of Mt. Gilead; two daughters, Allison H. Walters and husband Keith of Raeford, and Kimberly H. Michael and husband Ronald of Raeford; and six grandchildren, Jordan Walters, Hope Walters, Austin Hartgrove, Peyton Hartgrove, Travis Michael and Zach Michael.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2019 at the Raeford Cemetery with the Rev. Kenneth Williams officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery

Joyce T. Lewis
Joyce Thomas Lewis of Raeford died Monday, March 25, 2019 at her home at the age of 63.
She was born in Fayetteville on August 13, 1955 to D.W. Thomas and Ada Ross Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica A. Davies (Chisen Goodrow) of Shannon; two sisters, Nancy Davis of Lumber Bridge, and Peggy Cecil (Ralph) of Red Springs; and five brothers, Harris Thomas (Sue) of Rockhill, South Carolina, John Archie Thomas (Mary) of Lumberton, Bruce Edward Thomas (Donna) of Hope Mills, Leslie Ray Thomas of Lumber Bridge, and Clyde Thomas (Sue) of St. Pauls.
A private memorial service will be held later.
