Charles Leslie Howk of Hope Mills, formerly of Red Springs, died November 12, 2022 at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.
He was born on July 27, 1955 in Scotland County to the late Howard Howk and Minnie Campbell Howk.
He had a love for music and played in several bands including the Cartunes and the Henry Barry Band. He spent a lot of time supporting local bands and venues. He was a very giving man and donated to many organizations.
He is survived by his niece Vicky Garner, of Raeford; a great-niece Megan Stone, of Raeford; his best friend, Steve Howell, and his wife Elizabeth, of Hope Mills.
A visitation will be held at 3 p.m., Friday, November 18, 2022, at the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the services following at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Jimmy Coxe officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be made to the charity of your choice.

Phillis Nelson
Phillis Nelson of Aberdeen died Saturday, November 12, 2022.
She was born in Grundy County, Illinois on June 15, 1962 to the late Alton and Sandra Galey White. She was a sweet fun-loving person who worked hard and loved even harder. Throughout her life, she loved reading and was actively involved in her children's activities. Every year she looked forward to her yearly trips to the outer banks with her family and friends.
She is survived by her spouse, Tommy Nelson; her children, Tomi Lochbrunner, David Taylor, Jr. and his spouse, Sara, and Clint Nelson, and his spouse, Shelby; her brother, Phillip White; her sisters, Sandy Guin, Mandy Jackson, and Charlotte Wever; and her grandchild, Hannah Rouse.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, beginning at 2 p.m. at Southside Missionary Baptist Church,125 Heflin Rd, Aberdeen, with the memorial service beginning at 3 p.m.
Memorials may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036
