Howard Alexander McDougald of Raeford died Thursday, July 3, 2014 in UNC Chapel Hill Hospital, at the age of 90.
He was born July 19, 1923 in Hoke County to the late Daniel Alexander McDougald and Mary Virginia Gibson McDougald. He was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
He was a member of the Raeford United Methodist Church where he was in the Bob Lewis Sunday School Class. He was owner and operator of McDougald Service Station and McDougald Lawn Mower Service both in Raeford. He was an outstanding citizen in the community and was loved by many.
He is survived by his wife Isabelle Robertson McDougald of Raeford, a daughter Judith (Judy) Ann McDougald of Black Mt.; a granddaughter Holly McDougald McIntyre of Black Mt.; three sisters, Laura M. Sutton of Dallas, Texas, Margorie M. Carpenter of Fayetteville, and Helen M. Craver(Dan) of Bonita Springs, Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Raeford United Methodist Church.
The funeral with be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Raeford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Stephen Castle officiating.
Interment will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Ronald E. Miller
Ronald E. Miller, 61, of 1041 Loop Road, died Saturday, June 28, 2014.
Survivors are: wife, Shirley; son, Ronald Jr.; daughters, Kim, Yolanda and Suezette; stepsons, David, Leroy, Jerome, William and James; mother, Josephine; and siblings, Robert, Benjamin, Elaine and Corrine.
The funeral was held Wednesday, July 2 at 1 p.m. at Avery Chapel Church.

Linday Kay Herring
Linda Kay Herring, 56, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at FirstHealth Hospice House.
She leaves behind three sons, Kevin Spencer, Tim Spencer, and Jason Spencer; one daughter, Stephanie Spencer; her mother, Eunice Herring; two brothers, David Herring and Tony Herring; and 11 grandchildren, all of Raeford.
She was preceded in death by her father R.C. Herring, a brother Bobby Herring, and a sister Joann Harrell.
She was always kind, and forgiving to a fault. She was the very definition of what a southern woman is supposed to be, and always extended her hospitality to anyone we welcomed into her home. She was a simple woman, and valued simple things: love, family, country, and peace.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 2 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 133 Harris Avenue, Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3 in Crumpler Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Roger Burns officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Retired Army Lt. Col. Robert Joseph Martin, 92, of Raeford, died Saturday, June 21, 2014.
Survivors are: daughters, Maria Marston, Christina Peterson and Robin; sister, Dorothy Ross-Esbin; and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Monday, June 30 at 12:30 p.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake. Visitation, 11:30a.m. to 12:15 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
