Ella S. Davis

Ella Shuler Davis of Fayetteville died March 13, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings. She was retired from the City of Fayetteville as a Community Resource Coordinator. She was active in her church community an she enjoyed people. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Survivors are her daughter, Lisa Daniels and husband Johnny, and granddaughter Ziana Daniels, two brothers and two sisters.
A visitation will be held from 11:30 until noon on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 400 Campbell Ave, Fayetteville.
A memorial service will begin at noon.

Josephine Guess

Josephine Guess, 74, of Raeford died Sunday, March 10, 2019. The funeral will be held at noon, Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery, Fort Bragg. Burial will follow.  Services are entrusted to Purcell Funeral Home of Laurinburg.

Samuel B. Hendrix Jr.

Samuel Brown Hendrix Jr. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, formerly of Raeford died Monday, March 11, 2019 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center at the age of 76.
He was born September 22, 1942. He was a lifetime member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees. He retired from the Hoke County School as the Executive Director of Maintenance. He served in the US Army as a Captain. 
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kay Dees Hendrix of Myrtle Beach; a son Samuel Brown Hendrix III and wife Susan of Red Springs; three grandchildren, Kayla Hendrix, Emily Hendrix and Samantha Hendrix all of Red Springs; a brother, David Hendrix and wife Peggy of Aberdeen; three sisters, Pat Gaudet and husband Jerry of Charlotte, Kathy Keisler of Raeford, and Martha Ann Beal and husband Philip of Raeford.
Visitation will be held from 10 until 10:45 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church.
The funeral will follow at 11 with the Rev. Larry Chandler officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Kizzie Jackson

Kizzie Beth Jackson passed from this life on March 11, 2019.

Loved ones left to cherish her memories are her beautiful children, Lindsey McCormick, Anthony Jackson, Max Beeler, and Sam Beeler; her loving companion Joey Beeler; her mother, Hester Williams; her sisters Hope Hyer (Wayne), Jill Coughlin, and Deborah Neu (Michael); and five grandchildren.

Shane G. Futrell


Shane Gregory Futrell of Raeford passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at his home at the age of 33.
He was born in Fayetteville on September 24, 1985. He was a very passionate man with an unbelievable artistic ability. His passion for music, art, and his family was unmatched. He had the unique ability to approach and speak with those whom he had never met. He loved the Lord and was a born again Christian. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Ella Mae Futrell and Linda Grace Bowen.
He is survived by his son, Jayden E. Futrell of Fayetteville; his father, Greg Futrell and his wife, Joy of Tar Heel; his mother, Cindy B. Riley and her husband Ricky of Aberdeen; his brothers, Brandon Carter of Wilmington, Joshua Futrell and his wife, Ashley of Raleigh, and Matthew Futrell and wife, Taylor of Lumberton; his sister Devin Cook of Raeford; and his grandfathers, Donald Futrell of Raeford and Sandy Bowen of Red Springs.
The family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, March 13 at Crumpler Funeral Home. The funeral will follow visitation. Burial will be in Shiloh Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
