Lorraine B. Carter

Lorraine B. Carter Keller of Raeford went to her heavenly home on January 9, 2015.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Donna Jurek.

She was born August 16, 1935 in Rolla, North Dakota. She attended Minot Teachers College. She married Richard Keller on October 22, 1956. Over the next 58 years she was a loving wife, and devoted = to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Richard Keller; 2 daughters, Debbie Norton and her husband Don; Dwanda Dalton and her husband Vernon; a son Daniel Keller and his wife Donna; a son-in-law Glen Jurek; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at 275 Deaton Road Raeford.

 A memorial service will be held at a later date in Texas.

 In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Gladys M. Dunn

Gladys Marlene Dunn of Raeford died Friday, January 9, 2015 in FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital at the age of 88.

She was born on October 27, 1926 in Richmond County, to the late Jason Dunn and Nannie Brewer Dunn. She was preceded in death by her sons, George Edward Long and Jimmy Long. She was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Raeford. She loved her church and church family. She enjoyed her Evangelical Methodist Church Ladies class meeting. But most importantly she loved her Lord and is now reunited in heaven with her children and loved ones gone before her. I leave with my children and grandchildren, my love and look forward to being reunited with them in heaven.

Survivors are one son, Jerry Long and his wife Kathy of Raeford; two daughters, Nancy Lupo and her husband Bill of Lumber Bridge and Patricia Beasley and her husband Bucky of Lumber Bridge; a daughter-in-law, Jean Long of Raeford; 14 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Monday January 12, 2105 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Joe Brady and Pastor Roger Burns officiating. 

Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Rebecca F. Clayton

Rebecca Ford Jones Clayton 94, born on September 12th 1920, passed away January 8th 2015. Born in Raleigh NC, resided in Bunn NC.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.  She was a blessing and joy for all that knew her.  She loved people, traveling and art.                                    
Preceded in death by William Vance Jones, Father of JoAnn Jones Meade and Jackie Jones Davis, also preceded in death by Roy Everette Clayton, sister, Dorothy Ford Thomas and brother, Russell S. Ford. 
Survivors are: daughter JoAnn Jones Meade and husband Aubrey L. Meade, Jackie Jones Davis and husband Vance H. Davis.  Grandchildren,  Aubrey L. Meade Jr (Lily), Elizabeth Meade Sanne (Steve), Bryan Keith Davis, William Kevin Davis (Lisa) and Kimberly Dawn Matthews.  Great Grandchildren, Shane Michael Sanne, Joshua Robert Sanne (Jamie).  Great Great Grandchildren Kyrsten A. Ellis, Kaylen D. Ellis, Justin L. Ellis and William E. Davis.
Her family will receive friends Sunday the 11th from 2:00-3:00pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh NC 27609.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm at the funeral home.  Private family interment will at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.

Kenneth A. Saunders

Kenneth A. Saunders, 63, of Supply, formerly of Hoke County, died January 4, 2015 at the Hospice Foundation.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert E. Saunders and mother Dorothy Saunders.
He is survived by his wife Bessie Jane; a son, Ken Morgan of Oak Island; a stepson, Kid Earl Caison of Southport; brothers Gene Saunders of Holden Beach and Larry Saunders (Carla) of Ripley, West Virginia; sisters Rhonda S. Hodge of Raeford and Patricia Byrd (Kenneth) of Southport; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10 at 2 p.m. at Supply Baptist Church.

Ernestine H. Hinson

Ernestine Harden Hinson of 371 Mockingbird Hill Road died Monday, January 05, 2015 in FirstHealth Moore Regional at the age of 75.

She was born in Robeson County on September 27, 1939 to the late Dolan Harden and Lula Edwards Harden. She was a faithful member of The Church of God of Prophecy in Raeford as well as the church pianist. She was also a member of The Raeford Trio for more than 50 years. She was employed with the A&P Grocery Store in the 1970s and 1980s. She dearly loved her church family.  

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Franklin Hinson of Raeford; two daughters, Dianne Hinson, Karen H. Avery (Ashley) both of Raeford; her son, Brian Hinson (Leslie) of Raeford; her brother, Delton Harden (Juanita) of Raeford; her sisters, Geraldine Garrett of Livingston, Tennessee, and Carrie Jacobs (Harold) of Lumberton; grandchild Dolan Hinson of Raeford; and a special niece, Brenda Kellis (Harold) of Raeford.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2014 at The Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Randall Snead officiating. Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.

Alton Cummings

Alton Cummings, 66, of 3698 Old Maxton Highway, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014.
Survivors are: daughters, Rachel, Patty and Juanita; son, Larry Chavis; sisters, Lois Hunt, Vera Mae Sampson, Maletty Bullard and Lillian.
The funeral was held Sunday, Jan. 4 at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in South Hoke Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery.

 




Wilmor Breeden Jr.

Wilmor Breeden Jr., of 514 John Roper Ave., died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2015.
Survivors are: wife, Vivian; son, Wilmor III; daughters, Vickie and Stephanie Campbell; sisters, Juanita Pratt, Mary McAllister, Carolyn Guilford, Emma Thomas and Carlista Williams; brothers, John and Keith.
The funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. Monday in McLauchlin AME Zion Church. Burial will be in McLauchlin Chapel Church cemetery.
