Sharon Currie

Sharon Elaine Currie of Raeford died Thursday, August 4, 2022 at age 50.
She was born in Stanly County on June 10, 1972. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Elaine Huneycutt Currie, and her brother, Thomas (Tommy) Leon Currie.
She is survived by her father H. Lee Currie of Bolivia; a niece, Alexis L. Currie of Albermarle; two aunts, Brenda Currie of Raeford and Nancy Huneycutt of Locust; and two uncles, Bobby Currie of Raeford, and James David Huneycutt of Stanly County.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2022 at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. James Wilhide officiating. 
The family will receive friends after the service at the gravesite.

Billy Butler Sr.

Billy Sherman Butler Sr. of Parkton, formerly of Raeford, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at his home at the age of 78.
He was born in Hoke County on October 4, 1943 to the late Zeb Vance Butler Sr. and Nettie Mae Jackson Butler. 

He was preceded in death by his daughter Precyous Rose McLeroy, his brother, Ben Butler, and his sister Betty Butler Crowder.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Barnes Butler of Parkton; two sons, Sherman Butler and Keith Butler; a stepdaughter, Paula Autry and her husband Mark; three stepsons, Mark McVickers and his wife Annie, Trent McVickers and his wife Lisa and Tony McVickers and his wife Kim; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Zeb Butler Jr. and his wife Fay; and a sister, Eula Klutz.
Visitation will be held Thursday, August 4, 2022, 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2022, at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton with Pastor Tony McVickers officiating.
