Patt Woodcox

Pat B. Woodcox of Hoke County died August 26, 2022 at age 71.
She was born on October 6, 1950 in Hoke County to the late Armond D. and Josephine B. Black.
She was a proud member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Arabia, and she sure loved her church family.  She worked at Burlington Industries for 20 years, where she met some wonderful lifelong friends like Faye Rozier, whom she loved dearly.  She left Burlington after she and Larry lost their precious son, Allen.  She enjoyed fishing at Carolina and Kure beaches and sticking her feet in the cold streams of the mountains of North Carolina. One of the reasons she loved living in Raeford is because it is right in the middle of her two favorite places-the beaches and the mountains.
She was preceded in death, just recently, by her devoted husband of 53 years, Larry A. Woodcox Sr. (whom she called "Darlin') and by her son, Larry Allen Woodcox Jr. (Allen), as well as a brother, Kenneth Black.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina (Tina) Woodcox Bernhardt and her husband, Royce of Raeford, a brother, J.D. Black (Wanda) of Fayetteville, and a sister, Joyce Black McCabe, of Fayetteville.
Visitation will be held 3-4 p.m. Thursday Sep. 1 at Ephesus Baptist Church. The service will follow at 4 p.m. at the church with Pastor Wayne Sanderson officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials can be made to Ephesus Baptist Church, 4750 Arabia Rd. Raeford, NC 28376.
