Barbara B. Roman

Barbara Ann Beasley Roman of Rockfish died Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at age 76.
She was born July 9, 1044 in Hoke Count, daughter of the late Ervin Wilson Beasley and Erma Nell Bundy Beasley. She was also preceded in death by husband Francis S. Roman Sr. and her brother Ervin Wilson (Buck) Beasley Jr. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Todd S. Roman and his wife Patsy Roman of Shermans Dale, Pennsylvania and Francis Stephen (Steve) Roman Jr. and his wife Annie Rebecca Roman of Ephrata, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Alexia Faith Roman Jackson of San Diego, California; a brother, James Ervin Beasley and his wife Gwen of Fayetteville; and two sisters, Carolyn B. Turner of Rockfish, and Nancy Sue Carter and her husband James of Rockfish.
A visitation will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020 from 9-11 a.m. at Rockfish Tabernacle Baptist Church.
The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the Church with Pastor Tommy Underwood officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery.

Mary Agnes Merkerson

Mary Agnes Merkerson, 78, of Raeford died September 1, 2020. A funeral will be Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 2 p.m. in Rogers & Breece Chapel, 500 Ramsey St. Fayetteville. Burial will immediately follow at Fayetteville Memorial Cemetery. The family will welcome friends prior to the service from 11:45 a.m.– 1:45 p.m.

Edward Watkins

Edward (Doobee) Watkins of Lumber Bridge died Friday, August 28, 2020 at FirstHealth Moore Regional hospital in Pinehurst at the age of 42.
He was born in Chapel Hill on March 18, 1978. He was preceded in death by his Paternal grandparents, Johnnie Mae McAllister, Gusta McGougan and Odell McGougan. He served in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife of nine years, Sharon Watkins of the home; three daughters, Sabrina Murchison of the home, and Jasmine Brown and Sharvara Brown, both of Raeford; fFive sons, Shawn Chason of the home, Trequan Brown of Raeford, Trevon Purcell of Raeford, Darius Brown of Chapel Hill, and Nickari Hunter of St. Pauls; one godson, ZyAire Hill of Fayetteville; his mother, Kathryn Ann Wakins Hill of Fayetteville; his father, Antonio McGaugan of Tennessee; his stepfather, Wade Hill of Fayetteville; three sisters, Laurea Taylor (Michael of St. Pauls, andAlicia McGougan and Adrienna McGougan, both of Tennessee; and four brothers, Wade Hill and Derrick Hill both of Fayetteville, and Antonio McGougan Jr. and Aaron McGougan, both of Tennessee. 
A visitation will be held Monday, August 31, 2020 from 7-9 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford. 
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel in Raeford with Pastor Ronald Bryant and James Brown officiating.
Burial will be in the Bryant Family Cemetery.
