Susan McKellar

Susan Ann McKellar, 67, died April 15, 2022, after a lengthy illness.
Born January 9, 1955, in Lumberton, she was the daughter of the late William Ernest (1988) and Marie Grimsley (2016) McKellar. Grandparents were James Lewis McKellar and Lillian McKellar Edens, Jeter and Madge Turner Grimsley.
She was a lifelong resident of Red Springs until 2014 when illness confined her to Autumn Care in Raeford. She was a member of Red Springs Baptist Church.
A 1973 graduate of Red Springs High School, she continued her education at Fayetteville State University graduating in 1982 with a B.S. in Business & Economics. She was employed by BB&T until her illness.
She was a gifted artist who loved drawing and painting. She loved crafting, music, reading and cooking. She had a tender heart and sweet spirit. She had a great love for animals, especially cats. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the beach.
She was also predeceased by her brother, Samuel Ernest McKellar l(2011.)
She is survived by one nephew, (Wm.) Christopher McKellar and wife, Lindsay, two great-nieces and one great-nephew. all of Birmingham, Alabama  one uncle, Henry McKellar of Ketchikanj, Alaska and several cousins including Addie Dunahoe of Red Springs. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Kathy Jackson McKellar of Columbia, South Carolina.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Alloway Cemetery in Red Springs at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or a local "no kill" Animal rescue organization.

Cameron "Cam" Brown

Cameron Lee "Cam" Brown died April 13, 2022, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. He was 63.  
Although born in Bluefield, West Virginia, his roots were always in Raeford. Upon graduation from N.C. State University, he returned home and began work with the family businesses.   
He was a kind and gentle person with a quick wit and smile.  He loved his family, friends, and being a farmer in Hoke County. The sun on his shoulders, the view of a new crop sprouting, and a good fall harvest brought him great joy.  
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Cathy Brown of Raeford; a sister, Evelyn Fram and husband Evan of Flagstaff, Arizona; a brother, Vernon "Butch" Brown and wife Mary Anne of Verona; mother-in-law Carole Angle of Southern Pines; brother-in-law Gregory Angle and wife Kathy of Lenoir; a niece, Holly Brown of Tallahassee, Florida; and nephews Adam Brown of Raleigh, Eric Fram of Los Angeles, California, and Zachary Angle of Courtland, Ohio.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the Raeford Cemetery, with the Rev. Joshua Eom officiating.  
The family will receive friends after the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choice in his memory. 
Care of the family is entrusted to Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.

Barbara Burrow

Barbara Ann Burrow of Pinehurst, formerly of Raeford, died at FirstHealth Hospice in Pinehurst on Friday, April 8, 2022, at the age of 74.
She was born on November 25, 1947 to the late Glenn and Elizabeth Harris. 
She was a member and First Lady of the Praise and Worship Center in Raeford. 
She was preceded in death by her daughter Cindy Burrow Billinger and her son Alton (Ray) Burrow II. Survivors are her husband of 55 years Alton Ray Burrow of Pinehurs; a daughter, Belinda B. Davis and her husband Keith of Raeford; a daughter-in-law, Christy L. Burrow of Raeford; eight grandchildren, Amber, Jasmine, Trey, Zaidee, Ava, Nathan, Josalyn and Brooke; 12 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Glenn Harris Jr. and his wife Judy of Rockingham, Richard Harris and his wife Carol of Rockingham, Keith Harris and his wife Rhonda of Rockingham, William Harris and his wife Connie of Rockingham, and Wayne Harris and his wife Sonya of Rockingham; two sisters, Wanda Turner of Rockingham, and Ella Smith and her husband Buddy of Rockingham; a sister-law, Judy Parker of Pinehurst; and a brother-in-law, Donald Burrow and his wife Ruby of Raeford. 
A visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m.on Monday, April 11, 2022, at Praise and Worship Center, 2669 Fayetteville Road, Road, Raeford, 
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Praise and Worship Center in Raeford with Pastor Mackie Waters and Pastor Brenda Kellis officiating. The burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery.
