Bill Eugene Herrin, 77, passed away in his home Thursday, December 3, 2020.
He was born January 23, 1943 to the late John Merrill and Virginia Hill Herrin and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Billy was a butcher for over 55 years and a large portion of his career was spent working in Hoke County, where he was mostly known for working at Hardin's Food Store in Rockfish. He was a simple man who enjoyed simple things and loved to make people laugh, especially with the occasional "inappropriate" joke.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Herrin of Fayetteville; son, (Wayne) Billy Herrin of Hope Mills; daughter, Annette Blackwell of Hope Mills; daughter, Jessica Miller of Fayetteville; sister, Brenda Sawyer of Hope Mills; ex-spouse but lifetime companion, Wilma "Peewee" Herrin; and six grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service Sunday, December 13, 2020 from 11a.m. - 2 p.m. at the VFW, 3928 Doc Bennett Road, Fayetteville.
