Carolyn T. Smith

Carolyn T. Smith of Raeford died Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at her home at the age of 76.

She was born in Horry County, South Carolina on April 4, 1946 to the late Aubrey McKiver Todd and Alice Genever Beverly Todd.

She was employed with Burlington Industries before she retired, a lifetime member of the Cumberland County Amateur Radio Operators and her hobbies were crocheting, and spending time with her family, especially her two great grandbabies, and her daughter Diane, along with Gee-Gee.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Smith Jr. and her beloved dog, "Girl."

She is survived by her children, Lisa (Jeff) Turner of King, Montana, William "Steve" Smith of Raeford, and Diane (Donnie) Lucas of Raeford; grandchildren, Gloria Genever Baxley and Chance Turner; great-granddaughters, Madison and Skylar; brothers, James (Barbara) Todd of Bladenboro, Randall (Wanda) Conway, and Glenn Todd; sisters, Jeanette (James) Stephens Conway, Amanda Sue (Jr.) Marlowe Conway, and Linda Todd Conway; and caregivers, Sheila Kittrell, Lisa Carney, and Sallie Brown.

A visitation was held 1-2 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2023 at the Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel. A service followed from 2-3 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment followed in the Raeford Cemetery.

Shirley Keeling

Shirley Jean O'Neal Keeling of Lumber Bridge died February 16, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family and loved ones, at the age of 87.

She was born on October 24, 1935 in Pinellas, Florida to the late Jesse O'Neal and Myrtice "Myrtie" Pickles.

She was a loyal and dedicated member of Sandy Grove United Methodist Church. The two things she loved most was God and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raleigh Keeling; her son, Michael "Mike" Keeling; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Keeling.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Davis; grandson, Jason Parker and his wife Erica and their four children, Allen, Cassidy, Taylor, and Spencer; granddaughter, Ashley Ortiz and her son, Jonathon; grandson, John Keeling and his wife Renea and their daughter, Sidney; and granddaughter, Kayla Davis.

A memorial will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 2 p.m., at Sandy Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Josh Tester officiating.

Robert Dewayne Green Jr.

Robert Dewayne Green Jr. died on February 23, 2023 in his home at the age of 50.

He was born in Bridgeton, New Jersey on July 27, 1972 to Robert Dewayne Green Sr., and the late Barbara Walls Jolly.

He loved his two sons and his dogs. He was an excellent painter. Though he was quite troublesome, sometimes, he will be missed very much.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Green.

He is survived by his sons, Robert Dewayne Green III, and Tyler Mason Green; his father, Robert Dewayne Green Sr., and his wife Barbara; brother, Phil Green; sister, Vickie Gribble; his siblings, Danielle Quinn, Bruce Quinn, and Eric Green; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
