Elsie F. Egan

Elsie Fields Egan of Red Springs died Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at FirstHealth Hospice House at age 97.
She was born December 1, 1923 in Robeson County to the late Hiram Fields and Lizzie Joyce Fields. She is preceded in death by her husbands Luther Hickman and Thomas L. Egan, Sr., and her daughter Patricia Hickman Dalziel. She was a charter member of Red Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Red Springs.
She is survived by a son Thomas L. Egan Jr., and his wife Evalee of Charlotte; a daughter, Mary E. McMillan and her husband Bobby of Pinehurst; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, and nephews, including the Pickler and Livingston families in Hoke County.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Alloway Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Leslie McMillan III and the Rev. Horace Warwick officiating.

Keltys M. Jimmerson Sr.

Keltys McCuine (Kel) Jimmerson Sr. of Raeford died at his home on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at age 68.
He was born in Montgomery, Alabama on July 14, 1952 to the late Leland Curtis Jimmerson and Sara Shirling Jimmerson. He was preceded in death by his son Keltys McCuine Jimmerson Jr., a daughter Audrey N. Jimmerson and a grandson Austin Curtis Jimmerson. He retired from the U.S. Army in early 1990s and retired with the North Carolina Department of Prisons in 2016.  He attended the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife Brenda Hendrix Jimmerson of Raeford; two daughters, Denise Lee and her husband John of Homestead, Florida and Ashley Jimmerson (Andrew) of Raeford; a son, Noah L. Jimmerson and his wife Kasey of Jacksonville; 10 grandchildren, Jamie, Emma, Nick, Ethan, Gavin, Chloe, Makenzie, Jocelyn, Kaydence, and Raelynn; a brother, Leland Jimmerson and his wife Shirley of Wetumpia, Alabama; and two sisters, Frances Rushing and her husband Benny of Opp, Alabama and Marion Hoffman and her husband Mark of Niceville, Florida. He was also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Noah and Audrey Hendrix of Raeford.   
A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Wednesday April 21, 2021 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave. Raeford with State Honors.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. at Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church with Pastor Roger Burns and Pastor Bucky Hendrix officiating.
Inurnment will be held at the Raeford Cemetery with full military honors.

Jessie E. Smith Sr.

Jessie Eugene Smith Sr. of Raeford died Friday, April 16, 2021 at his home atage 67.
He was born November 16, 1953 in Monroe County Alabama to the late Anthony and Mamie Smith. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Linda Smith, Marion Smith and Richard Smith.  He served in the U.S. Army and was employed for many years with Fasco Fans and retired from MJ Soffee in 2020.
He is survived by his wife Linda Sumpter Smith of Fayetteville; two daughters, Stephanie Smith and Angela Smith, both of Fayetteville; a son, Jessie Smith Jr. of Greenville; a grandson Jaylin Womack of Fayetteville; a brother, Nathaniel Smith of Columbia, South Carolina; and a sister, Earlean Atkins of New York.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, Raeford.
The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
