Amelia A. Moddy

Infant Amelia Ann Moody, passed away Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.
Amelia is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Randy Webb.
Survivors are:  her parents, Zachary and Olivia Moody of the home; maternal grandmother, Connie Walling of Fayetteville; maternal grandfather, James D. Howard of Fayetteville; paternal grandmother, Lisa Moody of Fuquay Varina; maternal great-grandparents, Alton and Mary Helen Howard; paternal great-grandparents, Ralph and Sarah Webb of Fayetteville; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Moody of Fuquay Varina; paternal greatgreat-grandmother, Agnes Spaulding of Fuquay Varina.
The funeral will be held Saturday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. in LaFayette Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alton Howard officiating. Burial will be Cumberland Memorial Gardens
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at LaFayette Funeral Home, 6651 Raeford Road, Fayetteville, NC 28304.



 

Vester E. Sasser

Vester Edward (Junior) Sasser, Jr. of Raeford, died Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center at the age of 51.
He was born November 1, 1962 in Columbus County, North Carolina. He was the owner and operator of L&S Auto Salvage in Raeford.
He is preceded in death by his brother Jimmy "Cricket" Lee Sasser.
He is survived by his wife Barbara W. Sasser, a daughter Crystal Sasser, a son Vester Edward (Eddie) Sasser III all of Raeford; and his father and mother, Ed and Evelyn Sasser, of Clinton.
A visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Crumpler- Honeycutt, 118 Fayetteville St, Clinton. Burial will be in the Clinton City Cemetery.

Lucy M. Ray

Lucy Mae Ray of 515 Regent Court Fayetteville, formerly of Raeford, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the age of 66.
She was born December 1, 1947 in Pitt County to the late Matt Henry Copper and Martha Hardy Copper. She was employed by Burlington Industries.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Ray, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter Deborah Collins; two sons, Timothy Ray and Kenneth Ray; a brother, Ray Copper; three sisters, Lena Williamson, Janie Benjamin, and Dorothy Harrison; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Public viewing will be 12-6 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2014 at Crumpler Funeral Home, Raeford.
A home going service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 13, 2014 at Prospect AME Zion Church 15269 NC Hwy N. in Shannon with the Rev. Larry Lilly officiating.
Interment will be in Prospect AME Zion Church Cemetery in Red Springs.

Victoria B. Lowry

Victoria Brooks "Vicki"Lowry, 71, of Pembroke, died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014.
Survivors are: daughters, Lisa Grissom and Kelli Bullard; son, Garnett; brother, Venus Brooks Jr.; sister, Bellene Caldwell; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pembroke Gospel Chapel. Burial will be  in Preston Cemetery in the Redbanks area. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Sept. 9 from  7to 9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home in Pembroke.
