Carolyn D. Smith

Carolyn Diane Smith, 64, of Raeford died Thursday, April 2, 2020 at Accordius Health of Aberdeen.
She was born in Hoke County on October 29, 1955, daughter of the late James Archie Smith and Iris Cheek Smith. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jody Smith, Howard Smith and Larry Smith.
She is survived by her brothers, Johnny Smith of Raeford, Donald Earl Smith of Raeford, Tommy Smith and his wife Ruth of Raeford, and Roger Smith and his wife Tara of California.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 2020 at the Raeford Cemetery with Pastor Roger Burns officiating.

Dewayne D. Houser Sr.

Dewayne David Houser Sr., 57, of Raeford died Monday, March 23, 2020 at his home.

He was born in Muncy Valley, Pennsylvania on September 3, 1962, son of the late Ezra James Houser and Dixie Miller Houser. He was preceded in death by his brother, James Ezra Houser. He served in the U.S. Army. He was employed with Bill's Mobile Crane Service. He was a devoted husband, father and loved his grandchildren dearly.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sue Houser of Raeford; a son, Dewayne David Houser Jr. and his wife Sarah of Mason, Michigan; a daughter, Brandi Andrews and her husband Joseph of Parkton; six grandchildren, Austin, Joseph, David, Jeremiah, Jahdeyah and Matthew; and a brother John Houser of Alabama.

A memorial service will be held later.
