Betty C. Jones

Betty Conrad Jones of Raeford died peacefully on October 6, 2020 at FirstHealth of the Carolinas at age 79.  She was born in Fayette County, West Virginia on May 1, 1941 to the late Robert D Conrad and Margaret Conrad. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard L. Jones, her son Robert Conrad Jones and daughter Rhonda Jones Coleman. She was Homemaker. She was a member of Community United Methodist Church in Five Points. 
She is survived by a daughter, Tambra J James of Raeford; sons Timothy T. Jones of Raeford and Jonathan P. Jones of Jacksonville, Florida; and  five grandchildren. 
A graveside memorial service was held on Sunday, October 11, 2020 at the Community United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Donnie Robinson officiating. 

Virginia McNeill Maddry

Virginia Adams McNeill Maddry, 81, of Norfolk died Wednesday, October 21, 2020, at Windermere Nursing Center in Virginia Beach. She was born in Fayetteville to the late John Lawrence McNeill Sr. and Edna Adams McNeill. 

She grew up in Raeford and lived most of her life in Norfolk.  She was a member of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church there. 

 She was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Evans McNeill Clark. Survivors include herson, Lawrence McNeill Maddry of Spotsylvania, Virginia; grandson, Brett Adams Maddry of Columbus, Ohio; brother, Dr. John Lawrence McNeill Jr. of Southern Pines; sister, Margaret Anne McNeill of Southern Pines; three nieces; and two nephews. 

A graveside service will be held for family members on Sunday, November 1, at Raeford Cemetery by the Rev. Dr. Douglas Kelley.  

H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments of Norfolk and Crumpler Funeral Home of Raeford are serving the family.  

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Kidney Foundation would be appreciated.
