Richard R. Guy

Richard Roshell Guy, age 84, of Lumberton, formerly of Raeford, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
He was born in Cumberland County on August 22, 1935, son of the late Marion Frank Guy and Sadie Ann Baxley Guy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rochelle A. Luningham.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Mason Guy; two daughters Pamela J. McMurtry, and Apryl D. Guy; a son, Michael A. Guy; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held at Sandhills State Veteran Cemetery with Military Honors.

Anne D. Ewbanks

Anne Davies Ewbank of Shannon died Saturday June 13, 2020 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center at age 73.
She was born in the United Kingdom. When she was 10, her family moved to Canada. After she graduated High School in Canada, she moved to the United States to join the US Army. In the Army she worked at Walter Reed Hospital as a Psychology specialist. She graduated with honors at Armstrong State University in Savanah, Georgia. Before she retired, she was employed for 20 years with the Cumberland County Department of Social Services as a supervisor of the Child abuse team. She received the North Carolina Longleaf Pine Award in 1976.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years Lewis H. Ewbank of Shannon; a son, Lewis G. Ewbank II of Fayetteville; a daughter, Merideth A. Ewbank of Fayetteville; and a brother, Michael Davies and his wife Fran of Ontario, Canada.
A graveside service will be held later at the Raeford Cemetery.

LCpl William J. "Billy" Luce

Lance Corporal William Jacob (Billy) Luce of Raeford, 22, died Monday, June 15, 2020 at Camp Lejuene.
He was born at Womack Army Hospital on Ft. Bragg on July 30, 1997. He was a member of Troop 410 where he earned his Eagle Scout Rank, JROTC at Hoke County High School and First Baptist Church of Raeford. He participated with the Hoke County recreational sports. He was proud of his Eagle Scout project, placing benches in McLauchlin Park.  He enlisted with the U.S. Marine Corps in 2015 where he served as an infantry rifleman.
He is survived by his parents Jim Luce and Gaby Luce of Raeford; two brothers, Michael Luce and Clayton Lucel; and a nephew, Cayden Luce, all of Raeford.
A visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at First Baptist Church, 333 North Main Street, Raeford.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 4, 2020 at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Thomas Lee officiating.
Burial will be in the Raeford Cemetery with Military Honors.
