Daniel (Danny) Edward Gibson of Spring Lake, formerly of Raeford, died Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in his home at the age of 69.
He was born on March 1, 1951 in Bennettsville, South Carolina, son of the late Stafford Edward Gibson Sr. and Doris Clark Gibson. He was preceded in death by his brother Stafford Edward Gibson Jr. and his sister Ann Gibson Davis. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by a daughter, Candice (Candy) Britt of Spring Lake; four sons, Malcolm Kinley Jr. of Fayetteville, James (Jimmy) D. Britt of Raeford, John D. Gibson of Texas and James Seneca Gibson of Charlotte; his former wife and best friend Anita Gibson of Raeford; three brothers, Ronnie Gibson, Larry Gibson and Lloyd Gibson, all of Raeford; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 30, 2020 at Raeford Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after the service at the gravesite and also at the home of Danny Gibson, 34 Breezy Lane, Springs Lake.

Howard F. Stone died Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
He was born November 19, 1944 in New Hampshire. He resided in Florida through his childhood, finally settling in Tennessee and North Carolina. He proudly served his country in the Navy and Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Stone, parents, James and Eunice Hand, and a sister, Mary West.
He is survived by his children, Jessica Stone, Marty Hupp and Rocky Hupp; two brothers, Robert Mullins, and Everette D. Mullins; two sisters, Sarah Mullins and Regina Ann Vachon; six grandchildren, Hunter, Shyanne, Jorden, Dalton, Joshua, and Cortney; and three great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Lillian, and Brody.
