Robert Michael (Mike) Walkup of 417 Celtic Court Raeford, died Friday, May 24, 2013 at his home at the age of 63.
He was born in Franklin County, Ohio on December 19, 1949, to the late Thomas Alexander Walkup and Betty Walkup Bostic. He served in the US Army.
Survivors are two brothers, Joe Walkup and his wife Caren of Harrisburg, Ohio, and Tim Walkup of Chicago, Illinois.; four sisters, Peggy Bowles and her husband Bobby of Clarkton, Suzy Walkup of Fayetteville, Patti Foster and her husband Ron of Lumber Bridge, and Cindy Walkup of Raeford.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Bettie Garnes
Bettie Jeanne Walkup Garnes of Raeford died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 in her home at the age of 61.
She was born in Franklin County, Ohio on June 24, 1951 to late Thomas Alexander Walkup and Betty Jane Weigand Walkup Bostic. She was also preceded in death by her son Daryel Garnes Jr. and her brother Robert Micheal Walkup. She was employed by the US Postal service.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Daryel Garnes of Raeford; two sons, Alex S. Garnes (Alicia) of Austin Texas and Jeff D. Garnes (Thea) of Fayetteville; two brothers, Joe Walkup (Caren) of Harrisburg Ohio and Tim Walkup, Chicago Illinois; sisters Peggy Bowles (Bobby) of Clarkton, Suzy Walkup of Fayetteville, Patti Foster (Ron) of Lumber Bridge, and Cindy Walkup of Raeford; and three grandchildren, Daryel Lee Garnes II, Ethan P. Garnes and Will H. Garnes.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 30, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home 131 Harris Ave. Raeford NC.
The funeral will be held Friday May 31, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roger Burns officiating.
Burial will be in Raeford Cemetery.

Bobby D. Locklear
Bobby (Bob) D. Locklear of 3153 Oxendine School Road of Maxton died at the of 72 on May 26, 2013.
He was born on January 5, 1941 to the late Raymond Locklear and Hettie Roe Harris Locklear.
He started his life out on the family farm and later when he was an adult he began working in construction. Later in life he worked in the textile industry at Charles Craft, and then at the Kelly Springfield Tire Company in Fayetteville from 1985 to 2003. When he retired he came home to do something that he said he "always wanted to do," and that was to ride a motorcycle. He bought a 2003 Harley Davidson motorcycle and rode it virtually until the day he left us to go home to be with his heavenly father. He was his happiest when he would get a sunny day and be able to get on his motorcycle and ride with Tommy and his motorcycle family.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Marine Locklear, brother, James Earl Locklear, a son, Tony Locklear and the mother of his children Rosie Lee Locklear.
He leaves to cherish his memories, one son Tommy Locklear (Geroldine) of Maxton; two daughters, Brenda Locklear of Maxton and Lori L. Willis (Raymond) of Raeford; three grandchildren, Genia and Lekisha Locklear of Maxton and Logan Willis of Raeford; one sister, Judy L. Williams of Maxton; six brothers, Brantley, Jerry, Raymond Ray, Don and Billy Dean all of Maxton, and Bonford Locklear of Pembroke; and a host of other relatives, friends and his motorcycle family.
A going home celebration will be held on May 29 at Shannon Assembly of God in Shannon at 3 p.m., the Rev. Martin Jacobs, officiating. Burial will follow in The Locklear Family Cemetery, Maxton.

Evelyn W. Branch
Evelyn Wilkerson Branch of Raeford died Saturday, May 25, 2013 in Autumn Care of Raeford at the age of 91.
She was born in Robeson County on September 5, 1921 to the late Frank and Illa Rogers Wilkerson. She was a member of the Raeford Evangelical Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Howard Branch.
She is survived by three sons, Howard Branch and his wife Mae, Frank Branch and his wife Gail, Ronnie Branch and his wife Barbara, all of Raeford; 14 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel.
