Shirley A. McNeill

Shirley Ann McNeill of Smithfield died, September 20, 2012 in Johnston Medical Center at the age of 73.
She was born in the Blue Springs Community of Hoke County to Clifford McNeill, Sr., and Annie Parks McNeill. She was the youngest of three children. Her parents and her siblings, C.J. McNeill, Jr., and Jean Harris, preceded her in death. She is survived by her cousins, niece and nephews, as well as her neighbors and church friends.
She was a graduate of Flora MacDonald College. She served as the Certified Director of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church, Hamlet and Westminster Presbyterian Church, Raleigh. She was the first DCE at First Presbyterian Church, Smithfield, serving from December 18, 1989, through her retirement on February 28, 2003. She also served there as an elder. She continued to live in Smithfield after her retirement.
A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 215 South 3rd Street, Smithfield, at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 23.
A graveside service will be held Monday, September 24, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, John Russell Road in Raeford at 11 a.m.

Elaine B. Fair

Elaine Brannon Fair of Raeford died Sunday, September 16, 2012 in Pinehurst Health Care and Rehab Center at the age of 96.
She was born on August 24, 1916 in Blacksburg, South Carolina to the late Millage B. Brannon and Willie Harden Brannon. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Palmer Fair and her son, William Brannon Fair. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Greenville, South Carolina where her home was until 1998.
Survivors include her son, John E. Fair and his wife, Pat of Kernersville; her daughter, Sandra F. Potter and her husband, James of Raeford; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 22 in Woodlawn Memorial Park, 1 Pine Knoll Drive, Greenville, South Carolina with the Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
Visitation will follow the service at the graveside.

Carrie Galberth

Carrie Lee Galberth, 82, of Raeford, died Sunday, Sept. 9, 2012.
Survivors are her daughters, Alice McNair and Edith Hall; sons, Alwertha Jr. and Kelvin; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
The funeral was held Sat. Sept. 15 at 2 p.m. in Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial was in Highland Biblical Gardens.

Rae M. Jackson

Rae McMillan Jackson of 1592 Golf Course Road died Saturday, September 15, 2012 in her home at the age of 77.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Neil A. Jackson of the home; two sons, Dwight Jackson and his wife Patty of Raeford, Greg Jackson and his wife Donna of Raeford; and four grandchildren, Shanna, Nick, Matthew and Jordan.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at the family's home, 1592 Golf Course Road, Raeford, NC 28376.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Ephesus Baptist Church Cemetery, 4750 Arabia Road, Raeford, NC 28376 with Pastor Wayne Sanderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Foundation of Hoke County, 336 South Main Street Raeford, NC 28376 or to Ephesus Baptist Church, 4750 Arabia Road, Raeford, NC 28376.
