Albert O'Dell

(Ret.) Sergeant First Class Albert Glenn O'Dell died Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at the age of 74.

He was born August 16, 1949 in Pennsylvania to the late William and Alfaretta O'Dell.

He retired from the U.S Army as a military police officer after 20 years of service. After his military career, he went to work for George Rose as a handyman. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting, and fishing.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Dan, David, Jim, Eddie, Charles, and Virginia.

He is survived by his two children, William Christopher O'Dell, and Jessica Nicole O'Dell; three grandchildren, Army Specialist Devin Johnson, Kylie Nicole O'Dell, Leeah Boone; and three siblings, Jerry, Becky, and Emily.

A visitation was held at Crumpler Funeral Home Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Jean Ockert

Jean Ockert of Raeford died Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at the age of 84.

He was born February 20, 1940 in Romania to the late Wilhelm and Maria Ockert.

He was a master carpenter and tinker of small machines. He was an avid numismatist, professional billiard player, and professional archery champion.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Cecelia.

He is survived by his children, Jean T. Ockert, Michael Ockert, Melanie O. Moog; grandchildren, Ashton, Conner, Mariana, Holly, Zackary, Alex, Ian, Declan, Kristen, Emily, Jennifer, Travis, and Steven; great grandchildren, Scarlett, and Carson; and one sister, Lucia Torrealba.

A celebration of life will be held from 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at Crumpler Funeral Home.

Lorene McLean

Lorene McLean died June 7, 2024 at the age of 77.

She was born April 16, 1947.

The celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 15 at Center Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
