Sherman Locklear

Sherman Locklear, Jr. of 322 E. 4th Ave died Wednesday, October 3, 2012 in Southeastern Hospice House at the age of 53.
He was born in Scotland County on November 17, 1958. His father, Sherman Locklear, Sr. preceded him in death.
Survivors include his mother, Susie Mae Locklear of Red Springs; a son Aaron Huggins of Red Springs; a daughter, Tiffany Locklear of Fayetteville; three sisters, Deborah Miller and her husband, Mike of Raeford, Carolyn Sue Locklear (Kelly Briceno) of St. Pauls, and Samantha Locklear of Red Springs; a brother, Ricky Locklear and his wife Wanda of Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Monday October 8, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 220 E. 4th Ave, Red Springs, NC.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Karlis L. Blue

Karlis L. Blue, 35, of Dunn, died Friday, September 28, 2012 in Wake Medical Center in Raleigh.
Survivors are: wife, Tonya; daughters, Eisha Taylor, Erwin and Jada Chestnutt, all of the home; mother, Deborah Blue, of Raeford; brothers, King Blue III of Raeford, and Khris Blue of Greensboro; and one grandchild.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 4 at 2 p.m. in Dafford Funeral Home Chapel in Dunn with Pastor Bruce Hurst and Bishop Frank Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in Dunn. Visitation will be Thursday, October 2 from 1-2 p.m. in Dafford Funeral Home Chapel.

Peggie Huey

Peggie Huey, 71, of Raeford, died Thursday, September 27, 2012.
Survivors are: daughter, Vanessa Hobson and her husband, Eric; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildern.
The funeral will be held Thursday, October 4 at 2 p.m. McLauchlin Chapel
AME Zion Church. Burial will be Highland Biblical Gardens. Viewing will be Wed. Oct. 3 from 4-7 p.m. in Purcell Funeral Home in Laurinburg.

Ralph Britt

Ralph Britt died unexpectedly Saturday, September 29, 2012 at the age of 74.
He was born in Libertyville, Illinois on December 23, 1937. He was preceded in death by his father, Claude L. Britt.
Survivors include his wife, Gennie (Locklear) Britt of 53 years; his son, Bruce Britt (Margo) of Sacramento, California; daughters, Carol Gray of the home, Karen Martin (Larry) of Camino, California; his mother, Helen O'Dette of Orangevale, California; two brothers, Allen O'Dette (Cheryl) of Gurnee, Illinois, Dennis O'Dette (Meg) of Orangevale, California, a sister, Donna Krempley (Mike) of Lincoln, California; grandchildren, Sophie Trotter, Christopher Gray, Nicole Martin, Benjamin Martin, Brittney Martin, Robert Austin Britt; numerous nieces and nephews from North Carolina and Illinois; and his travel companions, Larry Goins, Glen White and Bruce Locklear.
He was retired from the Army National Guard and the Operating Engineer, Local # 3. He was constantly busy working.
A memorial service will be held, 6 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2012 at Crumpler Funeral Home Chapel, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hoke County V.F.W., 3310 McPhaul Road, Shannon, NC 28386.
