Annie F. Brewer

Annie "Anna" Florence Brewer, age 65, 255 Cook Road, Shannon, died February 19, 2017 in FirstHealth  Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
She was born on March 15, 1951 to the late Annie Ruth Pierce in Hoke County. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Pierce; one sister, Patsy Strong; and one grandchild, Kaitly Brewer.
She is survived by two daugthers, Tina Kay Locklear of the home and Tammy L. Brewer (Landon) of Red Springs; one son, Timothy D. Brewer (Keysha) of Mooresville; three sisters,  Thelma Kiser of Abderdeen, Tammy Walters (Alan) of Southern Pines, and Deborah Hamilton of Pinehurst; seven grandchildren, Ashley L. Pate, Jonathan Locklear, Timothy Jacob Brewer, Joseph Locklear, Kallie Brewer, Jada Locklear, and Karoline Brewer; and three great-grandchildren, Ja'Kyla Locklear, Jonathan Locklear Jr., and Makenzie Pate.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. at Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs.
The funeral will be Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 2 p.m. at South Hoke Baptist Church with the Rev Ernest Goins, the REv. Hubbard Lowery, and the Rev. Phil Pierce officiating. Burial will follow at the Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery.

Delmer W. Barefoot

Delmer W. Barefoot of Raeford passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017 in Cape Fear Valley Medical Center at the age of 69. 
He was born in Cumberland County on January 9, 1948 to the late Gaston Vernon Barefoot and Gladys Lockamy Barefoot. He was preceded in death by his brother, Elton Vernon Barefoot. After proudly serving in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, he was employed for 34 years with Carolina Telephone and Telegraph. After retiring from the phone company he owned and operated Barefoot Alarm and Electric and EZ Ryder Kreative Mobile Lifestyles, Inc. 
He was an elder and member of Philippi Presbyterian Church for many years and was known for handling every situation, whether it be a light bulb, plumbing problem, telephones, building's alarm system or the outside beautification.
He leaves behind his wife and soul-mate of 20 years, Juanita Barefoot of Raeford; his daughters, Toby Foster and her husband, Jeffrey of Hope Mills, and Heather Gunther and her husband, J.D. of Fayetteville; his stepsons, Arthur Wilkie IV and his wife, Gelyne of Raeford, Kurt Wilkie and his wife, Suzi of Atlanta, Georgia, and Karl Wilkie and his wife, Carolyn of Hagerstown, Maryland; his sister, Vera Pate and her husband, Alex of Fayetteville; seven grandchildren, Mary, Elizabeth, Kara, Jake, Ava, Megan, and Jamie; and one great-grandson, Jordan. 
The family will receive friends fro 7-9 p.m on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. 
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Philippi Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Baker, the Rev. Chip Grammer, and Elder Herman Autry officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. 
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Philippi Presbyterian Church Music Ministry, 2800 Philippi Church Road, Raeford, NC 28376 and/or Children's Hope Alliance, PO Box 1, Barium Springs, NC 28010.

Grace "Dodie" Currie

Grace Lenora "Dodie" Currie of Scotia Village in Laurinburg, formerly of Raeford, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 in Morrison Manor Hospice House at the age of 86.              

She was born in Raeford on December 22, 1930 to the late Lee and Mary Cashion Carter. She was preceded in death by her husband James Currie, her brothers Bobby Carter, James Carter, and Gene Carter, and her sister Ann Lowder.

She was a member of Raeford Presbyterian Church. She was married to James Currie on September 23, 1951, and was married for 56 years until his death in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter Mary Lynn C. Jernigan and husband, Lynn of Dunn; sister-in-law, Eloise U. Carter of Raeford; nephews, Johnny Carter of Raeford, and William Carter and wife Leigh and their children Claire, Carleigh and Kate, all of Laurinburg; nieces, Laura Lowder of Jackson Springs, and Deann Lowder and her daughter Katherine of Aberdeen; and many cousins in the Carter and Cashion families.

Visitation will be Monday February 20, 2017 from 10-10:45 am at the Raeford Presbyterian Church John C. Ropp Fellowship Hall.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. in the Raeford Cemetery with The Rev. Dr. Steve Fitzgerald and The Rev. Dr. Len Keever officiating.
