Michael "Mikey" Doren

Michel "Mikey" Doren, 25, of Hope Mills passed away March 17, 2017.

He was born September 30, 1991, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to the late Elizabeth Doren and Michel Corrado. He attended Jack Britt High School.

In his free time he enjoyed skateboarding, gaming, and riding dirt bikes. He was a car enthusiast and always dreamed of owning his own Ferrari sports car. He will be remembered for his sense of humor and willingness to always help those in need. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Hlif Doren, grandfather, Peter Doren, and niece, Phoenix Benjamin.

He is survived by his two sisters, Nicole Doren Creasy and Ariana Doren Benjamin; his Aunts, Diana McNamara and her husband, Robert McNamara Sr., and Donna Doren; his uncle Ronald Doren; cousins, Christina McNamara, Robert McNamara Jr., Desiree Doren Chavez, Jasmin Doren, Brittany Doren, Travis Doren, Ronald Doren Jr., Candace Doren, and Justin Doren; and nieces, Brielle Creasy, Peyton Benjamin, Paris Benjamin.

Visitation will be held 4-5 p.m. Friday, March 24, 2017 at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave, Raeford, NC.

A funeral will be held at the funeral home following the visitation.

Carolyn J. Holmes

Carolyn Jean Holmes of Fayetteville passed away in her home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the age of 65.

She was born in Mercer County, West Virginia on August 13, 1951 to the late Paris Sadler and Beryl Hall Sadler. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Alma Marie "Susie" Leffew. She was a supporting, loving, and faithful wife, mother, and grandmother. Along with gardening, she was creative in arts and crafts, and baking. She was a member of the Raeford First Baptist Church and served in the US Airforce. She graduated from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice.

She leaves behind her husband of 38 years, John Holmes of Fayetteville; her daughters, Heather Holmes of Fayetteville, and Amanda Duggan (Charles) of Jacksonville; her grandson, Brennan Cox; her brothers, Paris Sadler (Linda) of Lexington, Roger Sadler (Jimmietta) of Linwood, and Christopher Sadler (Robin) of Salisbury; and her sister, Deborah Chriscoe of Linwood.

A visitation will be held Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the Raeford First Baptist Church.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24 at the Raeford First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be in the Sandhills Veterans Cemetery following the service.
