Hazel Hendrix

Hazel McMillan Hendrix of Raeford passed away Monday, April 17, 2017 in FirstHealth Moore Regional at the age of 81. 
She was born in Scotland County on July 30, 1935 to the late Gilbert Sellars McMillan and Alice Jordan McMillan. After leaving Laurel Hill, she worked at the former United Carolina Bank and farmed alongside her husband of over 64 years. She loved to cook for her family and friends who would often stop in at the farm to sample her generous lunches. She loved to garden and grow beautiful flowers. She was known for her monogramming and embroidery talents. She was a former Children's Sunday School Teacher and a member of the Koinonia Class for 20 years with perfect attendance at the Raeford United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Earl Hendrix and her brothers, Leroy McMillan, Hector McMillan, and Paul McMillan. 
She leaves behind her husband, Earl Hendrix; her children, Gary Hendrix and his wife, Lynn of Raeford, Tammie Coxe and her husband, Mack of Raeford; her grandchildren, William, Matthew, Evan, Sydney, John Arthur, Megan and Robert; and her great-grandchildren, Bailey, Hannah, & Stacy. 
Visitation will be held Wednesday from  6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Crumpler Funeral Home in Raeford. 
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Raeford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brian Wingo officiating. Burial will be in the Highland Biblical Gardens.

Shirley Miller

Shirley Jean Davis Miller, formerly of Raeford, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017 at the age of 78. 
She was born in Parkton on June 17, 1938 to the late William Milton Davis and Eva Mae Jordan Davis. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald Davis and Wayne Davis. She was a member of the Hope Mills Church of God. 
She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Myrl Leon Miller of Fayetteville; her sons, John Wayne Miller (Teresa) of Aberdeen, Myrl Glenn Miller (Kelly) of Greensboro, William Leon Miller Sr. (Sherri) of Fayetteville; her brother, Sherman Davis of Fayetteville; her sister, Billie Mae Davis Kennedy of Fayetteville; her sisters-in-law,  Bonnie Davis and Betty Ruth Davis; six grandchildren, Leon Miller, Jr, (Diana Boyrd), Samantha Miller, Brandon Miller (Jocelyn) Christopher Miller (Kim) Casey Miller (Sara), and Seth Miller; and three great grandchildren, Justin Fogle, Alaina Miller and Briana Kelly
Visitation will be held at the Hope Mills Church of God, 4830 Cameron Rd, Hope Mills, NCon Wednesday, April 19th from 11am to 12:30 pm
The funeral is scheduled to begin at 12:30 in the church sanctuary following the visitation, with the Rev. Mike Wells and the Rev. Jimmy Lowery officiating. Burial will be in the Davis Family Cemetery in Davis Bridge.
